Just a question.

When we go to Disney in December will we be subjected to constant Christmas music or will we be able to hear some of the regular music as well?

Thanks! :)

I highly suggest you don't go to Disney in December if you don't want to be SUBJECTED to Christmas music.

Constant. Even in January, several days after New Years ... constant. At least in MK.

Yes, but most of the time it was in the background and unobtrusive, barely audible over the noise of the crowd. It was more noticeable in the stores and restaurants.

My music snob of a 14yo son says in his opinion Disney did an excellent job of keeping it from becoming irritating. And there's a good variety of tunes, too. It's not like the malls where they blare Jingle Bells and White Christmas at you on a nonstop loop. :goodvibes

We were there until January 8th at Epcot and I swear if I heard that Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer instrumental one more time, I was going to tear my hair out.

So yes, constant Christmas music up until then.

Non-stop everywhere. Probably my biggest disappointment going during Xmas. It was okay for our December trip but a little annoying in early November. I don't mind Xmas music but I missed being able to hear the regular Disney music at the resorts and parks. It definitely gives a different feel to the visit.

Haha I guess by using the word "subjected" it made it sound like I don't like that type of music which in fact I do like very much. I was just wondering if I would be "subjected" to any of the other regular Disney World soundtrack. :)

Bummer...

Yeah by then it probably won't even matter cause I'll be in full blown Christmas spirit mode anyways! :)

When we were there during the Holidays a few years ago I truly did miss the regular soundtrack of the World (especially the Epcot music when you enter and are walking around Future World near the fountains.)

Not to mention WS. Also Aventureland as you cross over the bridge.

Try working in the mall 40 + hours a week!

They definitely do a good job of keeping the holiday music themed to the area you are in. In most places the music stands out about as much as the normal back ground music does during the rest of the year. That is to say, not much.

Ok, I might be in the minority here, but from Thanksgiving to New Year's I love to listen to Christmas music nonstop. I can't wait until our December trip so I can hear as much Christmas music as possible. It adds to the experience. We go the week before Christmas and enjoy the decorations and music and come back home bursting with holiday spirit.

Probably in the minority, but not alone! I'm the same way too, even though they play Christmas tunes at my job, lol. I listen to a wide variety myself and we have some not-so-traditional selections at work (the zoo), so that keeps it from getting stale.

I actually have instrumental Christmas songs playing right now, haha.

I don't think anyone here is saying they don't enjoy Xmas music. From Thanksgiving until Xmas is fine. The point is that they are playing full time Xmas right now weeks before Thanksgiving. It doesn't ruin the experience but may surprise some first time November visitors.

So glad I am not alone in this! I really enjoy Christmas time and Christmas music... but one of the things I love about Disney is the (regular) background music. So I very much miss it when it's gone.

We're only going for a weekend, though- so I think it'll be ok :)

The music is amazing though! It really puts you in the spirit. And NOTHING can beat the music and lights at the Osbourne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Hollywood Studio. I went in the beginning of November last year (so way before Christmas), but it didn't bother me at all. It is a different kind of magic!
