Xmas music in the parks

I LOVE going in December, but now I'm trying to think if I even hear ANY music when I'm there. I really don't think it registers with me. Something must be wrong with me...

Yep, xmas music early November now - they get earlier every year everywhere. Santy is sitting in the malls here already twiddling his thumbs with nary a kid in sight! Music playing, little train running with no passengers!

I don't think anyone here is saying they don't enjoy Xmas music. From Thanksgiving until Xmas is fine. The point is that they are playing full time Xmas right now weeks before Thanksgiving. It doesn't ruin the experience but may surprise some first time November visitors.

Hey, it's already several weeks after Thanksgiving for those of us up here in Canada!

My husband started playing carols on November 1st. :thumbsup2 Which upset my 14yo no end. This year the boy tried to convince us to hold off on Christmas carols until after his birthday (very end of November), but his dad wasn't having any of that.

Mind you... right now we're playing Nickleback at volume, which the boy considers a torture worse than even Christmas Carols. He just announced he's going to bed! :lmao:

Ok, I might be in the minority here, but from Thanksgiving to New Year's I love to listen to Christmas music nonstop. I can't wait until our December trip so I can hear as much Christmas music as possible. It adds to the experience. We go the week before Christmas and enjoy the decorations and music and come back home bursting with holiday spirit.

:thumbsup2

Us too!!! We don't do halloween in our house....I start listening to Christmas music in late October. Most of what I like is a form of worship and I listen to that year round. We love the Christmas music in the parks and miss it when we go any other time of the year. :goodvibes

There are different soundtracks in different locations but there are some soundtracks that are used in many places, not necessarily synchronized. I think it was at Hollywood Studios where, at one location near the turnstiles, I could hear two different parts of the same soundtrack simultaneously, coming from (two) directions.

And I think Disney could increase the number of selections greatly. It does get monotonous hearing "Sleigh Ride" every hour. (Or twice an hour from that location I described.)

I seem to remember hearing The Christmas Song endlessly.

Well a belated TG to you! You crack me up. I have a rule in our house. No Xmas tunes or movies until the day after our TG. I have cited several members of my family for violating this reasonable family law over the years. :rotfl2:

Oh, I'll play Christmas music during that time as well. But not on freaking January 8th!

It will be gone from the parks by the 8th along with all of the other evidence of Xmas.

That's actually a good thing. The point of the background music is to stay in the background, and to help set the scene.

Dont be too sure. We were there last year in January (12th - 17th) and EPCOT was still partially decked out, the big tree was still up and Christmas music was playing. Same with Magic Kingdom (but no big tree).
