A friend of mine is looking for a good deal on XM radio. I, being the bargain shopper that I am, offered to look around for the best deal. I'm clueless though. I found the XM Roady on the Best Buy site for 79.99 and then it has a $30 MIR and I though that was an okay deal. Then you purchase the service monthly right? Are there any deals out there that include the radio unit thingy with the service? Is the Roady a decent unit? Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated :)

Do you just want something for your car? We have the Delphi MyFi which we got from Amazon. After rebate I think it was around $100. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...-9093607-8935858?_encoding=UTF8&s=electronics It can go from the car to the house and then can be used on a beltclip with headphones (we haven't used it that way yet and actually we haven't even used it out of the house). We're enjoying it a lot. We were mainly getting something for our second van, or so we thought, and the ability to use it in the house was an added benefit and we are very happy we got this one.

My sister has one that just goes in the car and she was jealous when I told her about ours.

It's pricey, but the MyFi is great. As T&B said it comes with everything you need for the home and car. With the rechargable battery, it can power itself in the car while the cell phone charges. I don't think any of the other XM models can do that.

If you're really price sensitive, look for the now discontinued Roady2. Everything for the car, should be no more than $35 retail - no rebates though. There's a home kit available for the Roady2. It's around $40.

One time activation is $10. Subscription is, I think, $12.95. You can add up to four more radios at $7 a month.

I have the MyFi also and I love it.. I always said that Id never pay to listen to music, but its wonderful!!! Theres always something on and no commercials.. I have the one for the car.. My DF has one that is portable.. He loves it too..

I bought the SkyFi2, bought it at Target for $100, which includes everything needed for use in the car. Then found the home kit at Wal-Mart on sale for $30 (normally $50)..
