Xbox 360 Kinect-Hot New Toy?

Try buy.com. Got the bundle with no tax and free shipping a week or so ago. Seems like they're the same price everywhere.

I just happened to check bestbuy.com, and they had some in stock- ordered it for 149.99, free shipping.

Can't wait to get it and try it out- it will be hard to wait until Christmas, lol!

Has anyone seen the Kinectimals game? I am thinking I might order that for it too; I thought maybe ds7 and dd2 would both be able to play it? Any opinions of it?

DH and I just bought the 250gb system with Kinect and 1 free game bundle on the microsoft website on Monday. Every other place was sold out online. When I checked the microsoft store, it didn't show up, but it did show up on google. Clicked through that link and made the purchase. Funny though how it was not showing up as available when I did a search on the microsoft store website.

Anyway, we feel like we lucked out finding one. We've never had an x-box (just a Wii). DS has been asking for one for years, so this will be his big gift this Christmas.

I was searching on Amazon and the Kinect is sold out already!! I went ahead and placed my backorder for the kinect with the game. They still have the bundles with the Xbox 360 and the kinect but we already have the console.

Anyone find the Kinect elsewhere and what prices are you finding?

I saw them evrywhere on Friday. All priced $149.99 Game Stop, Target, BestBuy-they all had stacks of them.

Went into Gamestop yesterday around noon and got one of two they had left for $149.99!! The kids are going to love it!

DS really wants one of these for Christmas. I have a 4 gb set that I was able to get at Game Stop but I have not been able to find the 250 gb set. Is there a significant difference between the two sets? Should I just stop looking and be happy with the 4 gb?

I was at Gamestop yesterday and they told me that the Kinect requires 190 mb of the 4gb and unless you're a major gamer the 4 will suffice.

Sounds great!! Ours arrived yesterday and I told Dh we should try it out, get set up for Christmas morning.

He said we should not play with the kids toys before Christmas and they are smart enough to set up themselves!

BTW, Amazon had the Dance Central for $10 cheaper yesterday in their lightning deal, and it was one of the few games that did not sell out. The Wii Just Dance sold out, but Im looking forward to dancing without a controller or worried about batteries.

Does anyone have any idea how the kinect compares to the Wii?

Yes the kinect requires no controllers at all, but the xbox is used by the boys to play Call of Duty and such, so they need their controllers.
The girls mainly play the Wii, so I don't see how the kinect would be in that much demand at our house.

I know everyone has different situations, so I was wondering how it compared to the Wii.
