Xbox 360 4G vs 250G

My kids want to combine their birthday presents this year and get an Xbox primarily for Disney Infinity. There's obviously quite the price difference between the 4G and 250G. Which do you recommend. I'd prefer the 4G and use the extra money for more characters but will I regret not having the larger size? We don't do the Halo games and all that it'll mainly be used for infinity with eventually the kinect for the other disney games that way. My husband does like games like CPT America. But that's the extent of our gaming.

I know that it's more expensive but games these days seem to take up more space, and if you get to the max space you have to start deleting files.

Get the 250, if you get the 4 you will need to buy a bigger hard drive.

This is not true. The better deal is to get the 4g xbox360 and you can by the extrude hard-drive for 25 bucks or even use a memory stick for that matter. It also depends if you are going to store 1,000,000 photos. If price is a factor go with the 4 g slim and get the extra hard-drive for 25 bucks. I have a few extra hard rives I can send you if that helps in your decision.

The 250gig, without a doubt. The 4gig is simply inadequate - my son had downloaded that much expansion content in the first month he owned his Xbox 360. And while you can upgrade to a larger drive later opening the unit to add a new drive voids the warranty so you don't want to be doing that on a nearly-new machine.

Post #6 has the correct advice. It's MUCH cheaper to buy the 4GB and drop in a separate hard drive. You can get a 320GB HDD Hard Drive Disk Kit FOR XBOX 360 320G Internal Slim Black for $59.00 on Amazon. I've had one for several years and it works perfectly. Much more memory than buying a 250 GB Xbox and you'll save a ton of money.

I stand corrected. And now I'm wondering which system my son was talking about opening up to add a drive. I'm a PC gamer, I don't do anything with the console systems.

Maybe that's just the term he used? I don't know how you upgrade memory in other gaming systems.

No, he was specific about asking to open the case and pointed out that the system was long out of warranty. He has an Xbox 360, older Xbox, PS2 and original PS so he could have been talking about any of them. I just assumed it was the 360 because that's the one he actually uses, but maybe he was messing around with one of his older systems.

I got my DS9 a 4G Xbox at Christmas and he plays Minecraft, Skylanders Swap Force and Infinity. All of the games save to the hard drive and he will never run out of space at this rate. I see your kids are of similar age so I think you will be fine with the 4G.

ALL game saves are saved the to the hard drive.

With the 4GB system you are not going to have all 4GB to use, it is only about 3.6 usable (or close to that).

Look at this this way-
Disney Infinity game save: 360KB
The Title Update (fixes bugs and whatnot): 33MB
If you install the gave to the hard drive (faster load times, less stress on the system instead of playing off the disc): 6.0GB

If you were going to install the game, you couldn't. Not enough room. Now, you can use any memory stick (above 512MB, I think) and save games that way. That can be a pain.

Either buy the 250GB or get the 4GB and buy a generic third party hard drive to put in, really easy to do and can save you some money. I have the 320GB (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0ZTYE7CHWYNDV33AE4XS) you can get a 120GB for $40.

The xbox360 slim has a spot where you can add a hard-rive and cost around 25 bucks as I said before, and NO you don't have to open the unit to get to it.
