X-Ray machines now at Universal

I watched on you tube when they started using the metal detectors

It looked like a smooth set up and peeps got thru quickly

On fb watched the tv segment where reporters went to UO to film the event

No complaints from those that went thru the process

I think it will go fine

Since I have done Hhn over the years I watched the screening and metal detectors being used
They have been using that a long time for the event

On the boat docks at PBR in May/first week of June they were hand scanning (running the detector wand around your body and hand searching bags. I personally prefer X-ray machines to having a person standing in my "space" running a hand wand over me. There's a little more pyschological comfort with a machine, and anything that speeds up bag check has my approval.

While walking the path up to citiwalk/parks we walked straight up to the table. Places our phones in a bowl on the table and I carried a Vera Bradley wristlet, so I just opened it real fast for them to peek. The days we had a string backpack it took all of 10-20 seconds for them to look. And you just walk they the metal detector arch next to the table. Never once did we have to wait. Always walked right up and we were the only ones there. At the boat dock we might have waited a minute for one of two people in front of us to have their bag checked. I bet the parking lot line is very busy but not the other stops. Really wish I would have taken a picture of it so you could all see what it's like. Just wanted to add there isn't an X-ray machine that checks your bags like they do at the airport. Just someone peeking in looking for guns/weapons

Have you been recently? We went on 7/28 and 7/29 and I could have sworn I put my stuff through an X-Ray scanner, though maybe I am confusing the process with our cruise that followed.

Did you stay onsite?

Yes, we stayed at Royal Pacific. Sorry...just realized you were talking to OP

I was there at end of May and the security folks at the boat docks leaving the resort looked in your bags with a stick. I never seen one of them stick their hands in a bag. One person was checking your bag while the other scanned you. It was a very quick and efficient process.

A small collapsible knife was found in someone's bag one morning as they were checking bags and scanning before we got in the boat. It was handled very professionally.

I found the security folks very kind and professional. TSA could learn a thing or to from these nice people.

It is sad that it has come to this in our society, but I'am impressed that UNIVERSAL values their customers enough to implement safety measures that will ensure a safe experience at their parks.
