My DH, and DS(3.8yrs old at xmas time) are going to Disney for Xmas. We are staying at the SSR..my fave

Anyone have any park tips, dining tips, etc? We have added on the dining plan

It will be my DS first time, of many more to come of course.

Any advice will be appreciated.

If you can try to visit some of the other resorts to see decorations, you will love it. Like the ginger bread house at the GF etc. And dont miss the snow fall at MGM with some hot coco. :cool1:

The dining plan is great during Christmas/New Years. The parks are crowded, but we love the atmosphere of the holidays. Make your reservations asap. We saw many many people turned away at the resturants. They will book up. When are you going exactly? Before Christmas its not crowded. Just before Christmas it starts to fill up and After Christmas thru New Years its crazy crowded.

We are going dec 23-29th

The parks are open till like midnight...so we fig do early AM with son, and then go late night for ourselves (with mom babysitting)

what doyou think?

I think that's a very good plan. We have gone three of the past four years at Christmas/New Year's and this same plan works well for us. Make sure and make your ADR's as soon as you can. It's good to have them for lunch at this time of year as well as dinner.

lots of luck............this is the worst time to go to WDW in my opinion...........go Dec 1-20..............leave by the 20th. trust me after this trip you'll understand my post completely

For that time I'd be at any park 30 minutes before opening, make all the early entries and expect to spend quiet time in the room or at the pool during the day. Make sure you have dining PS for this time make 180 days out from your first day. If it were I, I'd make lunch and dinner reservations every day and then cancel the ones last minute I didn't need.

Do the parks when they open (not an hour after, but when they open). You can get 2-3 hours in before the crowds arrive. Be prepared for cold weather. It can be in the low 80s, but also in the 40s. We've experienced both in the same trip. Do take time to see all the resorts - they are absolutely beautiful. Make ADRs for dining. My wife and I are reserved for our 4th consecutive Xmas trip this year. You'll love it, unless you let the crowds get to you. Relax and go with the flow.

We were thinking of doing Animal Kingdom for actual Xmas day b/c we figured less crowded (as most people at MK), and making ressies for the b-fast character there (breakfastasaurus)...what do you think?

where do you normally dine/do on xmas day?
