Hi everyone, My father-in -law is planning to maybe buy a house at Wyndham Palms. We are going in November and when he made reservations today for a rental he was told there will probably not be any units available then. does anyone know anything about this community and weather or not this is true? Also, we have never been there but his boss loved it. so does anyone have an opinion on its location, attraction? Any help would be great.

I have a friend who is building a home in WP as we speak. I went to tour it on my last trip there. The place is incredible. It's location is great, about 2 and a half miles from Disney but far enough away from the madding crowd.

The resort is gated and manned by a person who checks every visitor and were consistently friendly. The clubhouse has a movie theater and (what I really liked) a convenience store, stocked with all those little things we may have forgotten. There is a health club and a heated swimming pool. The houses are pool houses also, but I saw people with a pool walking to the clubhouse pool. When I asked her why, she said because the kids liked the warm water!

The homes are situated apart from the condos. If I wanted to live anywhere in Orlando, it would be there.

The weather? It's Orlando! It's hot most of the year and cold the other 4 weeks. :D Like in Georgia, mostly everywhere is centrally air conditioned so unless you're outside for hours at the parks it's bearable. :D

Lucky you to have a relative living there!

Hi

We're staying at the Wyndham Palms in two weeks time and have heard nothing but good things about it.

We booked direct with the owner who told us that the name is due to be changed to Windsor Palms due to a dispute over copyright of names with Wyndham the hotel people. I think this change is due to take place in September.

If you run a search on these boards for Wyndham Palms there should be quite a few hits because a lot of people have been talking about it over recent months.

There are loads of web sites about it as well. We are really looking forward to going and will post about it when we get home.

We stayed in a condo at Wyndham Palms in March of this year and absolutely loved it - will most definitely be staying there again on our next trip. I have a hard time believing there is nothing available in the month of November, given the number of condos and pool homes there for rent. I would suggest trying www.vrbo.com, www.villas2000.com, www.orlandovillas.com or other similiar sites if you want to try booking a property directly from an owner (which is what we did) or you could check with almost any of the management companies. I'm sure you'd have no problem finding an available property at WP with the number of homes available, and given the time of year you'd be going. Good luck with your search, and I know you will all enjoy the property - it's just wonderful.

Its not that there won't be one to rent. We plan to buy a house there and have it built, but they say by November all the lots will be sold out. I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding if this was correct or just a sales tactic.
Thanks for all the info, it sounds nice and I hope it works out for us. A permanent vacation home in Florida is a dream. I do love to stay onsite so I think we will still do days here and there just to get the full experience.

I would say that it's a sales tactic. There is ground broken daily there but I saw many undeveloped areas ready to be built up. The sales staff there is very good, and they showed me how many properties sold in the week I was there, so they do seem to be selling fast, but it's their job to get you hooked quickly.

I'll be back in Kissimmee next week and I'll call in and see the girls at WP and find out the true picture for you. As a Realtor they will tell me more - I hope :)

thanks everyone I really appreciate it. It's a big step for us, so fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Hi There,

We had a villa built at Windsor Palms 18 months ago and have been out 3 times this year and going again towards end of August.

We have a Barrington 3 and cannot fault the builders - Pulte - and the after service has been excellent.

Once Winsor Palms completes Pulte will be building at Bunker Hill,
which is not far from Windsor Palms.

Please have a look at our web site if you wish to see what a Barrington 3 looks like and please email me if you want any other information.

Our web site is www.cysfloridavilla.com

Hope this will help anyone thinking of buying a villa there.

Regards

Seawise
