Search is down- anyone have any info. on this resort?

Hotel Kingdom lists it as a new resort. Is it a brand new resort, or is it a newly remodeled resort? Is $86.90 a good price for their two bedroom villas?

Thanks! :D

Where is this located?

The reason I ask is because we stayed at Windsor Palms in December 2002. If I remember right it used to be called Wyndham Palms but then there was some sort of lawsuit due to using Wyndham since there is a hotel by that name too.

Where we stayed was in Kissimmee and just off 192. We loved it!

If it's the same place let me know and I'll give you more details -- our house, a shortcut to Disney, the area...

It's different from Windsor palms, but that's about all I know. There has been some discussion here, but no one really knows much about it. I think it's just called The Palms resort or something?

Windsor Palms units are owned year round by people or companies. The place you are talking about is a timeshare. Do you have to do a presentation?

Try the search later at night or early morning :)

As I understand it, here are the two resorts that are confusing so many of us. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken:

"Wyndham Palms Resort & Country Club" is the former "The Palms--A Tempus Resort" -- This is a timeshare now owned by the Wyndham Hotel group.

"Windsor Palms" is the former "Wyndham Palms" -- This is a community of individually owned vacation homes.

To make matters more confusing, they are both located off Highway 192 in the West Gate area of Kissimmee!

Did I explain this correctly? Someone tell me if I am still confused!
Thanks!

Svenson, you explained it great! It's pretty new because we went there last year and they're still building onto it. I really liked it. The two bedrm was beautiful. We did a timeshare tour and bought he sample package. We'll be staying there the end of this month, so I'll report back about that. The resort is so convienient to restaurants and to dw. You can do a search on google.com and put in tempus palms and they have a picture tour of it.

Thanks, everyone.

The address for the resort I'm talking about is:
7900 Palms Parkway, Kissimmee, FL 34747

As it is listed on Hotel Kingdom, you can book it without attending a timeshare presentation, or you can attend the presentation and receive a lower rate.

Goofyzgurl- I went to the website, but I did not see the address of the resort. If this is the place where you will be staying, then I would love to hear about your experience there. We are planning on visiting WDW in April.

Thanks again! :D

Hi, did you see the pictures of the resort on the wyndham.com website?

I tried to get a price on rrooms, but the website wasn't working right.

$86. for a 2 br unit anywhere is a good price, but this resorts looks to be pretty upscale.

herc.

don't forget to join Wyndham by Request so you can get the free perks like early check in & late check out, free local & LONG DISTANCE calls, free internet, free welcome snack & beverage (although when I called the resort, they said they were not aware of the free welcome gift of beverages & snack but whan I called the membership line for Wyndham by Request the rep said that the Resort should be ready for now but he would have someone check into it with the resorts Wymdham by Request Manager)

www.wyndhambyrequest.com

I booked my stay thru hotelkingdom.com also & then called the resort directly to add my membership number to the reservation & it was added with no hesitation!

Wyndham Palms used to be the Palms Resort by Tempus. The Windsor Palm Resort USED TO BE named the Wyndham Palms.

Did I lose you yet????

For more information check their website athttp://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MCOTP/main.wnt . The resort is lovely, I toured it back in 2001 and thought it was beautiful.

Has anyone been here? Does it have a waterslide. Looks great, but we HAVE to have a waterslide now. Spoiled.

I was looking at this same special, and wondered about the slide also. I called this morning, and she said "no slide in the pool". They are "resort syle pools", not olympic size or anything. She did say it was close to Disney though -- 1 1/2 miles to the Main Gate.

We may book this one anyway, just because it seems so nice. I'm bummed about the slide though! It would have been perfect if it had one!

Goofyzgurl- How was your stay? I hope it went well because we went ahead and booked it for our upcoming trip.

J&D, just got back today. The resort was beautiful! We did the two bedroom and I don't regret it one bit. There were the two queen or full size beds in the second bedroom, pull out couch in the living room, and the king in the master bedroom. There was a full kitchen, but I did not cook one bit, bought a lot of supplies and pretended like I was going to, but didn't get a chance ;) The two bedrooms have the washer and dryer so I came home with no dirty laundry and I didn't pack too much because I knew we were going to do a lot of outlet shopping--and we did. I had added a night to our sample package through hotelkingdom, so we ended up having two ressies and having to move. The first room was in building 24 on the second floor and the second building we were in was 18 on the second floor too. Building 24 was near the construction of new buildings, but we didn't hear a thing, it had a view of hole 8. Building 18 was right next to one of the pool. We didn't get to see the main pool, but the one next to us had the zero depth entry. We took my brother and his girlfriend and they camped out on the sleeper couch in the living room because of the big screen tv. The resort was so convenient to disney, just one mile from the mk exit, about 20 minutes from universal. It's off 192 so there were all the restaurants and grocery stores there. I'd avoid the Ponderosa though--blech. If I missed anything, don't hesitate to ask. Oh, the first room was a 2 bedroom standard and the second room we stayed in was a lockoff. The only difference was that the lockoff had one main door, you entered a small foyer-like and then there were two doors, one leads to a 2 bedroom and the other I assume leads to the one bedroom.

Goofyzgurl- Thanks for the update! Glad you had a great time!

The Wyndham Palms is still called the "Wyndham Palms, a Tempus Time Share Resort" Wyndham does not own it, Tempus does, we just manage it. It just recently (like within the last 1 week) started "flying the Wyndham flag" and honoring ByRequest. The units are individually owned Timeshare units that they sell as hotel suites when they are not occupied. There is NO lawsuit.
Let me tell you, the normal rates start at over $189 for the 1 bedroom, and you are talking up in the $400/night range for the 2 bedroom villa. (I work in reservations for ALL wyndham hotels and resorts - 3 years!) They are HUGE. I cannot believe people are getting rates of $88/night. I cannot even stay that cheap. What's your secret?
There is a golf course there and the resort is on beautiful grounds. From the staff that works at the Palace, they did say it is a little hard to find and out of the way, but to me it looks very peaceful and if you are getting such a steal, why not??!!??
If you need me to find out anything else about the resort for you, let me know. It has been named "Wyndham" for a long time, but we just started selling it through our office within the last week. I am not an expert yet on it. When the staff comes to my office in Dallas to give their presentation (should be soon), I will post what I find out about it.

**bump**

Maybe Jennifer's & some of the other post will help explain some of the confusion....

I found this place on hotelkingdom thru Travelaxe. They still have this going rate of $88.90 for the 2 bedroom, at least for 12/3/03.
Yes, they are all 2 bath for these.
I always call they facility directly to ask questions. They are a couple of miles from MK.
Also FYI, they have free breakfast M-F, but not on weekend for free. This was a shopping point for me. We wanted a 2 bed, 2 bath location with free breakfast. Those few days are good enough for me, since they hotel price was so cheap, I still come out ahead buying breakfast for 2 days than staying at other locations that have 2 bed 2 bath with ALL DAYS free breakfast. Trust me, I researched the heck out of our trip.

HGMOM...Any more info on this resort. From what I am reading there are alot of buildings, does this mean you are far from the eating area where breakfast is? Are there restaurants there?

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks
Joanna

I will be staying there in a three bedroom next month. I got this by exchanging my own timeshare.

I wonder if I would get anything if I joined the Wyndhams by request. Any thoughts on that?

I will try to remember to post information about the three bedroom on this thread when I return.
