Has anyone else encountered this problem

Last year we took the Wyndham Palms Resort timeshare tour.

I got a call on Wednesday offering me to take the tour again and stay at the resort for $299 for 4 days/3 nights, plus 2 theme park tickets, $500 in coupons, etc if I traveled in the next 18 months. If I traveled before December 15, 2004 I could have the same deal for $199. I told the lady I would have to discuss it with my husband and call her back. She said no problem and she would call me back if she didn't hear from me.

Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. she calls me to tell me she just came out of her morning sales meeting and their prices have just gone up today to $299 if you travel before December 15, 2004 and $549 within the next 18 months. I told her thanks, but no thanks. That was not the deal she gave me yesterday.

I highly suspect this is just a trick they use to peak your interest and then up the price. I am just wondering if they have pulled this stunt on others or if they legitimately had a price increase.

It sounds funny to me. I don't know for sure if they had a "price increase" or not, but they may be setting the groundwork for another call sometime, trying to get you to jump on it before another "price increase".

If you liked the original price, call back yourself, speak with someone else, mention that you were given that price, and see if they'll honor it. Timeshares are usually pretty flexible about anything that will get people into their presentations.
