Who has stayed here? We are able to get a great $75.00 rate for Aug. My dd the Disney snob , only wants to stay on property, but this hotel is about as close as you can get. Any comments?

I have stayed there several times. Very nice and you can walk to Downtown Disney. They do charge a resort fee so beware. However, they have a nice pool and you can even check out CD player and CD.

We stayed there for four days this past March - it is a nice hotel - probably the closest you can get to being in a Disney-like resort. The gift store is all Disney - and the character breakfast on Sunday mornings sure makes you feel a part of the action. The transportation is good - on a scale of 1-10 (10 high) I rated them an 8. For the rate, you've got a great deal. The breakfast buffet is excellent - on every day.

The location from Downtown Disney is nice. The hotel is right across the street from the marketplace. There is a sidewalk that takes you there from the resort. We stayed there last year (Apr. 01'). The resort had decent facilities (pool, grounds, lobby, etc., )but I was less impressed with the rooms. We were on Concierge Level in a so-called "Green Room". It is a room that is designed for people that have allergies. They have filtered water in the room, the towels are laundered with perfume free detergent, etc. DH, DD, and DS have bad allergies and asthma. My major complaint was visible black spots on the ceiling and the room reeked of mold. In fact that whole section of the concierge floor smelled mildewy. I can't remember the room number, but we looked out on the pool area and Downtown Disney. There are some good threads on this resort with varying opinions, so I would run a search and read them before deciding on this place. JMHO.

I stayed there in March and didn't care for it at all. Our room was on the 12th floor. The hallway was old and worn with rippling, stained carpet; the door to our room had more chipped and peeling paint than not. The room was musty, again with rippled and stained carpet, and there was what appeared to be smoke damage (could be wrong there, perhaps just some other form of dark stains near the ceiling). Bathroom was tiny and outdated. The balcony was also tiny and my fiance, after seeing the room, refused to go on it due to safety concerns. :( Also - and this is a weird complaint, I'll admit, the balcony chairs were exactly the wrong height, so when you sat in them, the top bar of the balcony completely blocked our view (which was of Epcot, Space Mountain and the Swan/Dolphin.) Not a tremendously big deal, but shot down my plans to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and watch the fireworks.

The remainder of the hotel was better than our room. The lobby was not as spectacular as I expected (this was my first stay at a 4-star resort) but it was attractive, and the staff was generally friendly and knowledgeable. Food was very high priced, we ate at WDW - usually Downtown Disney - to save money. There are no prices in the small snack shop on the ground floor. Don't guess that it couldn't be that much, it is! $13 for two 20 oz pops, a tiny can of Pringles and a candy bar.

Location was unbeatable. One minute walk to Downtown Disney. We walked over there at all hours of the day and night on a whim. Transportation was generally also very good, with a bus being there when we needed it virtually all the time without planning! Maybe we just got lucky, but I think the busses run frequently. You could also catch Disney transportation at the Downtown Disney bus stop.

We paid $65 a night via Priceline for this room. I felt like I got a better value the year before paying rack rate of $89 at the Radisson Resort Parkway (before I discovered the DIS!). Next year it's time to fork over the extra money and try onsite. We ate at the Contemporary on our last trip and WOW. Seeing that was not good for my budget trips.

I had a wonderful experience at this property. It is very convenient to DTD. I didn't use their bus transportation. The rate you received is excellent. I think you would be very happy at this property.
