Anyone stayed here recently? I have seen very mixed reviews on this hotel. What did you think?

I stayed there in a suite a couple of years ago. If you signed up for their frequent guest program, you got a free snack on arrival. The location is great (directly across from Downtown Disney). My daughter loved the pool area, and we saw a bunny hopping on the grounds.

DH and I stayed for 2 nights about 6 months ago. The Wyndham Palace has a gorgeous lobby, pool area, and grounds. The rooms are clean but nothing special (and a little on the small side). We had a tiny balcony from which we could see the Disney fireworks--fun! There are several rather pricey restaurants, a little market with 8-buck sandwiches that was open to about 11 PM, and a fitness center.

The shuttle to the parks was great on the weekends but spotty on a weekday. Peple say it's right across the street from DTD, but "right across the street" is a relative term--more like a 15-minute walk. There are no reasonably-priced restaurants within walking distance (something I like about staying on 192--a gazillion restaurants!).

We thought it was a nice hotel but for the price (I think we paid $89 per night, plus $10/day resort fee, plus $10/day for high-speed internet access, plus tax) I would rather stay at a Disney moderate with our Florida Resident Pass discounts, or at a hotel with a microwave/frig. I would actually even choose a Disney value resort over the Wyndham, mainly for the food court and transportation (but we don't use pools or fitness centers, so many resort amenities are lost on us).

Haven't been there recently, but was there when it changed to Wyndham.

It's a pretty hotel. The rooms are decent size, and peaceful.

My last stay at DTD Wyndham was in November 2003. Upon check in I was bumped into a suite on the 5th floor so I have nothing but good things to say especially since I won that hotel on priceline for around $70. The hotel is pretty and prices for food are the same as you would find on Disney property. I did enjoy the recreation island area and did walk across the street to DTD and did a bit of shopping and eating there. Very convenient to catch Disney busses as well - you have to walk the back way through the recreation island and you'll see a back gate which leads you to the street and directly diagnally across the street are the Disney bus depot area. Maybe a 7 minute walk tops; however, that street you have to cross is busy and your not by a stop light or sign so I wouldn't want to cross it carrying young children. strollers or lots of packages. I didn't mind the hotel and stayed there while a convention was there. I wouldn't have any qualms about staying there again for 2 to 3 nights in the future especially if I got a great price again.
