Wyndham or Hilton?

I know there have been discussions about the Wyndham so maybe this is an easy one - what say the hotel experts - I have a choice between the Wyndham or the Hilton Disney Village - which one should I choose? I will be staying there for a conference in Orlando and then moving on-site for a few days. So my decision on which hotel doesn't need to include convenience or anything - just which one is the better hotel?

Thanks
Shelley

My opinion is the opposite of Spiceycats. I just had a vacation there in Nov. I had a night at Wynham DTD before checking in on property at Disney and a night at the Hilton DTD at the end of my vacation.

Wyndham - I was placed in a larger suite type room (even though I bought the room off of priceline) which faced a parking lot. Room was very very very nice. I enjoyed many of the amentities that the hotel provided including the pools, hot tub and ordering dinner in. I didn't hear my neighbors, bought a few items from the souvenir shop and had a really great start to my vacation. The hotel was clean and everything in my room was in good order. Now since I wasn't put in a regular room I can't comment on them, but in my personal opinion, I did prefer this hotel over the Hilton

Don't get me wrong, the Hilton is also a nice hotel. My room was clean and in good order. There was a problem with the door (cut a good 1/2" from the floor) which let in a lot of noise as I had plenty of neighbors who had children. I didn't like the pool area as much as I did at the Wyndham but I did prefer the general food/cafe area here than what was open at the Wyndham (Hilton has more food choices). The other option available at the Hilton is that you can participate in Disney's early entry into whatever park is open on that day. However, as your checking into Disney eventually, you may not want to use that option.

Both hotels are about the same walking distance from DTD which is very convenient. I wouldn't hesitate to spend a night at the Hilton but I wouldn't stay there for a multiple day stay.

Hmm, we did not get a suite type room at the Wyndham, and instead had a tiny, dirty, poorly decorated room. I guess it matters where you are. I liked the pool at the wyndham.

But the Hilton seemed so much more together IMHO. I would vote Hilton.

I have never stayed at either, but stayed next door to both places a few weeks ago. If the bus schedule to the parks and attractions helps your choice at all, then you might go with the Wyndham. They get picked up last and dropped off first on every trip. No Waiting!! Don't know how they managed that one, but that helps see more sites with limited time on your hands. Both hotels are located walking distance from DTD, PI, etc.

They both seemed to have well kept up grounds and lots of folks visiting from our bus rides, so I'm sure either choice would work out great.

We had a fabulous 5 night stay at the Hilton over New Year's Eve and highly recommend it. I left a lengthier commentary on my experience on this message board about a month ago. You might want to do a search for it. Overall, room was great, location was perfect (walking distance to DTD/PI), and we had no problems at all using the shuttle buses to the parks. Have a great trip!

When staying at the Hilton do you get a parking pass for the parks?

I've stayed at the Wyndham 1 time and the Hilton 2 times. They both are nice hotels. I don't think you could really go wrong at either.

Have fun!
