Wyndham Lake Buena Vista... How is it?

I had booked one night at POR (after a stay in Universal) for a non-park stay... My husband did not care for POR --I thought it was cute but he hated it-- I was a bit worried about the lack of restaurant options and activities on site. I cancelled.

I started looking around and found the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista right across Downtown Disney. On TA, it seems great, I'd say between Moderate and Deluxe (reminds me a bit of the Contemporary but without the monorail.

I picked a King Room in the Tower because I am not a fan of exterior doors.

Anobody ever stayed there?

I have stayed there four times. The last time was last weekend. On the first three trips I got a free upgrade to the tower room. This past weekend I received an exterior door room on the 3rd floor facing the parking lot. The only part that bothered me about the exterior door was our neighbor took it upon himself to smoke cigars outside his door. So when we walked passed or open our door to enter/exit our room we could smell it. We love the location to DTD, that is what makes up keep returning. The tower rooms are larger than the exterior rooms. Other than that we had no issues.

I heard different reports about the lack of cleanliness and overbooking (people reserving tower rooms downgraded to exterior rooms) Do you think it's really a problem there ?

I have never heard of people being downgraded. My brother has stayed there a few times and he has not reported any issues. It was clean and quiet. We were there for a cheer competition at the Swann, another cheer gym was there as well. We saw them in the lobby but did not hear any noise and they were not at the pool in the evening when we were at the pool.

This is just a standard hotel... not a deluxe at all. So if you are expecting Disney deluxe quality you will be disappointed.
