We are considering Wyndham Grand Orlando How is their transportation to Disney? Do they provide transportation to Universal? What are the pros to staying here vs. renting points at SSR studio? It would be for me, DH and DD. We want two real beds! Thank you

The pros are much more space for much less money. You will likely save $1,000 or more vs. renting points. You will get a 2BR with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer.

The cons would be having to pay for transportation if you don't have a car. Also, you can walk to Disney Springs from SSR, which is nice if you plan to go there for a few meals.

WBC has a rather limited shuttle that I recall is $7 per person including kids, so $21 for a round trip in your case. If you decide to go to the parks in the AM, return to the resort in the afternoon, and go back in the evening it would be $42, so it can add up. The times the shuttle leave may not fit your rope-dropping plans as well.

If you are going when Magical Express is still free, you also have the cost of transport from the airport to the resort.

Many people who stay at WBC report using rideshare to go to the parks. With rideshare, you can pick when you want to go and the cost would likely be similar to the shuttle.

As far as I know, there is no service to Universal, however, companies like Mears provide shuttles that can take you there. Or you could just use ridesharing.

Overall, I recommend anyone staying at WBC to rent a car in they can. In the end, having a car can save you money by easily heading off-site to a grocery store for snacks and supplies or a trip to an off-site restaurant for a less-expensive meal. Having your own transportation is just easier and more convenient.

thank you. I just revised my post to specify that we are looking at the Wyndham Grand Orlando now, not the Club (had mixed reviews on Tripadvisor).

Not sure about the hotel shuttle, but the hotel does have a hefty resort fee.

You have to take Tripadvisor reviews of timeshare resorts with a grain of salt. The following thread has a ton of info about WBC, with people reporting on recent stays.

Wyndham Grand is the standard hotel room set up but you do get 2 real beds, unlike the DVC studio. Transportation to Disney is costly. No shuttle to Universal. Wyndham Grand has several resort fees that Disney does not. I presume, possibly in error, you don’t have a car as you’re asking about transportation. Uber will always be cheaper and provide more flexibility. There are several hotels in the Disney Springs area that provide free shuttle to Disney parks, and some also go to Universal. Maybe that would be better. Obviously the DVC gives you the full bubble effect....but less one bed.
Unless you’re interested in using all the Club Wyndham stuff as well around the resort, The Grand can be pretty pricey for a standard room that‘s nothing more than a place to sleep.

This is helpful. Thank you! Dd likes the look of Saratoga's Murphy bed and I have read it is much better than sofa beds so I think we will go with Saratoga.
