has anyone booked this from the uk? I have been looking online but can only find american companies that offer it, and am a bit nervous about booking something when I cant speak to someone face to face.
I cant find any uk travel agents that sell these.
Im looking for an apartment rather than the hotel.

I posted a deal this morning in this thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3063140
Don't recall what type of room it was though, have a look.
I believe its a timeshare complex so often you will find US agents better prices. Might be worth a look in the US section here for more info http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15

I have stayed here 4 times (see my signature) going back in July for 22 more nights, I can't wait. It is a fantastic resort and cannot be beaten for the price. We have stayed at SSR 3 times and I think Bonnet Creek is even nicer and the rooms are far bigger. the location is great and the pools are fantastic. 5 pools, 2 lazy rivers, pirate ship slide. Lots of activities.
I always book via Ken and Denise Price at www.vacationupgrades.com
You will see lots of recommendations for them and other companies on the Orlando Hotels thread. iw ouldn't book through anyone else, they are great to deal with.
Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. One thing that always surprises me is that I have never heard another English accent in all the times I have stayed there. All the Americans I speak to always seem suprised to be speaking to someone from England.

I wouldn't worry too much about bed bugs. I have spent many nights here and never had the slightest issue or met anyone who has. Definitely don't let it put you off because a bed bug could be at even the best hotels. Never seen any sort of bug in our room which is a relief as I am not sure I would handle it well!! Rooms have always been spotless.

Thanks for your replies. I have emailed VS and they have sent me a quote for next year, which I thought was a really good price.

Just a few questions, I dont want to hire a car, how much is it to get a taxi from the airport (mco)?
Which tower would be best to stay in for a quiet time. One of the appeals is the balcony, spending some evenings sitting there after my daughter has gone to bed, but I have read reports that some towers are noisy.

Also how much for a taxi to seaworld, or is it easy to get a bus?

Do the shuttle busses go to all the disney parks, did I read somewhere they dont go to the water parks, and if so how would you get to them?

My main issue seems to be not having a car, but I really dont want to drive!

I have only stayed in the main building which only has 4 floors and tower 4. Both very quiet. I guess if you had a ground floor building facing the pool it might be different. Don't really know about taxi prices but I am sure if you post a separate thread you will get lots of answers. You are definitely ok going to parks without a car but I guess if you want to go anywhere else the price of taxis will add up. Hope you manage to get booked as it really is a great resort. When you say you got a quote from VS., what company is that or were you talking about Vacation Upgrades? Let me know if you have any other questions.

I got a quote from vacation strategy, about £800 in english money for 2 weeks next may.
Having had quotes for staying at pofq, this was much cheaper, and to be fair I like the idea of the extra space.
I dont plan on doing any cooking, but its nice to know I could if I wanted to!;)

We have stayed in the main building 3 times which we love as it has a hotel feel and then last year we were in building 4 which I think is now my favourite as our favourite pool is right outside. We have never heard any noise when in our room but I guess if you were to have a low down room facing the pool you might here a bit as they do have music on but not loud and it goes off pretty early.
I don't know how much taxi's are as we have always driven when staying there. I am sure other on the boards will know the rough costs.
The shuttles go to the four main parks on a very regular basis, You can get a shuttle to the water parks from any of the main parks but you would then have to do that coming back also so might be a bit time consuming.

Just realised I have kind of duplicated my post. Didn't think my original one had worked!

Do try Vacation Upgrades as they really are great to deal with. You might get a better price.
