Okay, I'm planning a trip for my DH and I and another couple for February of 2010... I'm so excited. The other couple has points in the Wyndham vacation resort so looks like the four of us may be staying in a two bedroom unit.

I've never stayed there so just want to know what others have thought about this resort. How far is it from WDW, is transportation reliable, restaurants, etc.

Thanks for any help/hints from everyone.

I stayed at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek two trips ago (my DS & BIL have a time share). It was GREAT! We had a three bedroom condo that was very nicely furnished and the kitchen was well equipped, too. And I love having a washer/dryer so I don't have to pack as much. :woohoo:

We had a car so I can't attest to the transportation issue. I do remember seeing buses at the main entrance which I assumed would take you to the parks for a fee. Bonnet Creek is completely surrounded by Disney property and close to CBR.

I'd favorably compare WBC to Windsor Hills--BUT I think when you stay @ offsite properties, it helps to have a car. But, then again, I like having a car when I stay ON site:goodvibes

DTD is just down the road a few miles and there's a grocery there--can't think of the name--but it's a bit pricey. I'd hop over to 192--there are several chain stores there (Publix, Walmart, etc) for provisions.

Have a great trip and have fun planning.:wizard:

The location is excellent, right next to CBR. In fact, its more centrally located to most Disney destinations than OKW or SSR---we've often been on OKW buses going *past* the entrance to Bonnet Creek on our way to or from various parks.

Transportation is "decent", but personally I would not rely on it---I would rent a car. There are two pool snack bars (think pizza, wraps, etc.) but there won't be a full-service restaurant on site until one of the hotel properties being built in the complex is ready for guests.

We're Wyndahm owners, and staying there for the first time this July. I'm really looking forward to it.

Thank you both for the comments. Sometimes staying off site can be a bit chancey.

Brian I would love to hear what you think of it after your trip in July.

I'll certainly report back. Our plan was originaly to do just water parks and Sea World in July, and save the WDW theme parks for February. But with the AP discount program, we could get PAPs for a little bit less after you stack all the discounts up, and just do WDW for both trips. We haven't decided what we're going to do yet for sure, but if we only do the water parks this trip, it might not be a fair comparison to our Feb '09 OKW stay.
