If we rent from Wyndham Bonnet Creek, we can get a large room with a W/D for under $200
But we will not have a car.

Would that be a hardship for us?

And where do the buses from Wydham Bonnet Creek leave to at the Parks?
How far is there bus stop from the Park entrances?

Caveat = a less expensive room may also ruin our next WDW vacation

Thank you!

Wyndham Bonnet Creek does have bus transportation to/from the parks, BUT they do charge for it. When my parents were there, it was $7/roundtrip. Tickets needed to be purchased in advance, and everyone, including children were charged $7/per roundtrip. Depending on the number in your party and the number of days you plan to take the shuttle, this can really add up. (There were 8 in my parents party!)

I would not stay off-site without a car, and I never rent a car when I stay on-site.

Why would a less expensive room ruin your vacation?

That would be $24 a day for our family.
We would be stuck in WDW all day if we stayed there.

So maybe a BLT of BWV studio rental may be better for us.

$200 is extreme. You should be able to do much better than that at WBC. A 2 BR will likely cost around $150. The same 2BR at DVC will cost hundreds more a night.

Having stayed at WBC twice (and heading back in June) I would never stay there without a car. I've never heard anything good about the shuttle service, and I would not like how inflexible it is. For a family of 4, that $28 a day should get you a compact rental car in Florida.

Nope. I would never do it. We stayed there last year. 3 family units in 2 cars. We had planned on using the shuttle in case people wanted to return to the hotel early or stay out later. It didn't work. Shuttles had to be reserved 24 hours in advance, according to the front desk. My husband wound up having to drive people back and forth from the parks/hotel on a couple of days and missing out on his own park time. The resort is beautiful and inexpensive, but I would never stay there without a car.

Check into taxis. I don't know how much they are but I don't think it would be too expensive since it isn't very far to each park. We are staying there next week and taking a car.

Love WBC and it's getting harder and harder to pay for a small hotel room vs a large condo. We have a car and we get free parking. But for us no car is a deal breaker for me to stay offsite. Aside from cost, the time lost.

- Consider how much it will cost you to get from the airport to the condo (Orlando transportation is expensive).
- Consider how much it will cost for shuttle service to parks or anywhere.
- Consider being stuck at park all day, or double the fare so you can have pool time.
- Consider how long a shuttle takes if it's not direct to park service.
- Consider how much it will cost you for taxi service.
- Check in to cost of rental car and factor in gas & parking fees each park day. Hopping or returning is no charge same day.

WBC has great pools and amenities and given it's practically on property it's a great place to stay for what you get inside your condo. And being a few minutes back to enjoy the amenities or take breaks, even to just have a quick lunch or dinner since you have a kitchen. If you can't easily get there, I feel, you loose out on so much that makes it a great option.

PS The quoted rate is too high, check around at other sources folks offer up. I do SkyAuction and I get that not everyone is comfortable with that but we paid $45 total a night for a 1 bedroom and in Dec paid $88 total a night for a 2 bedroom. Head down in few weeks to Sheraton Vistana to a 2 bedroom for $67 night.

DD25 and I will be staying at BC in November for W&D Half Marathon. We plan to take a taxi or Uber to Caribbean Beach Resort (1.1 miles) and then using Disney transportation from there. While some might see this as a hassle, with just she and I it will be fine. But I can see people traveling with kids or large groups not wanting to do that. All our grown kids are meeting us there in Sept. (6-7 of us total) and we are driving down for that trip so we will have a rental car.

I was at Bonnet Creek 2 years ago for 2 weeks during the month of July without a car. We couldn't rent a car because no one in my family drives. It was 4 adults and 2 kids. We spent a couple of days going to the Disney parks and we used cabs. The cost for the cabs including tip didn't come out to too much more than the cost of the shuttle for the 4 of us going to the parks. I would rather stay at Bonnet Creek without a car and enjoy all the amenities that it has than spend a fortune during the summer months on a small hotel room in one of the Disney hotels so I can use their bus system to the parks.

I just planned our July vacation again and we are headed back to Bonnet Creek and we won't have a car again. Disney is having a discount on their hotels but I can't see spending $1005.00 (tax included) for a standard room at Pop Century for a week. I can't see 2 adults & 2 kids (1 5-year old and 1 15-year old) crammed in a small room. The 5-year old will climb the walls. I rent a 2-bedroom at BC for less than a week at Pop Century. Even though we are on vacation we do cook a lot of our meals and we don't mind it especially that Bonnet Creek has a dishwasher.

Most people on this site say that they wouldn't stay at Bonnet Creek without a car. If I could drive I would rent a car, but I don't drive - I never learned how to drive. My decision to stay at Bonnet Creek without a car is based on the fact that in the long run I am saving money by not spending days at the Disney Parks which are way too expensive now and the fact that if I stayed in a standard room at Pop Century we would have to eat all our meals in restaurants. My 15-year old nephew has a huge appetite. Since we cook a lot of our meals in our room at Bonnet Creek and only eat in restaurants on days we are in the parks, we are cutting down the cost of food.

I guess money-wise it comes out to be the same, but nothing beats going back to a 2-bedroom and sitting on the balcony at the end of a long park day.

To the OP, you can get BC for less than $200 a day.

Maybe look into a room at a Downtown Disney hotel. I know there is at least one that has family type suites. I think their shuttles to the parks are better than some of the other offsite hotels. The Downtown Disney hotels have shuttles that run every half hour. (Or at least they did.) Check out Mousesavers.com for some specials.
