I wanted to stay there after all the rave reviews I have read here. But then I watched a video on Youtube that went around and showed the room. I was underimpressed. It looked terribly small and grundgy. (sp?) Also, is there no maid service there. I would hate to clean on my vacation. Do you have to pay daily resort fees for parking and wireless?
And does anyone have any experience with eating Gluten Free there?
Thanks,
Jennifer
Make sure you are watching a video of the Wyndham Bonnet Creek timeshare resort, and not a video of one of the other Wyndham Properties, The Wyndham Grand At Bonnett Creek [the hotel], or the Hilton Bonnet Creek. Compared to onsite [short of DVC Villa], the rooms are definitely much larger.
It's a TimeShare condo, so no, no daily maid service. On trips longer than 7-days there is a complementary mid-week "refresh" of the room. You can also pay for maid service during the week if you desire (sorry, don't know the cost). in General though, it's really not that difficult to keep the place clean...ish. A Dishwasher for any pots, pans, dishes, etc.... which is extremely easy to run while you sleep or visit a park. And they give you plenty of towels, and it's really easy to run them thru the washer/dryer in your room either while you go to the parks during the day, visit the resort pools, or sleep at night.
No Daily resort fees (at the timeshare resort. The Wyndham Grand is a hotel at the same location that is different). What you are quoted from whoever you rent from is what you will pay. There are no hidden fees once you check in to the resort. You can pay extra for things like housekeeping, some of the scheduled activities [usually for supplies, such as the tshirt at the tie-dye activity], or for extra supplies [though there are numerous reports of people getting extra dishwasher and laundry detergent free when they ask], But Parking and internet are included with your stay for free.
As for eating gluten free..... sorry, I can't give you much first hand experience here. Obviously, Anything you prepare in your unit's kitchen you have direct control over. Outside of that, There is the onsite pizza/sub place, the pool bars which sell burgers/sandwiches, and a couple nice restaurants at the Grand onsite. I would think the restaurants at the Grand would probably be the most equipped to handle special dietary requirements. The Pool bars however may be a bit more limited due to their smaller kitchens and limited menu.
