Our trip was from Apr30th - May12th. Took us a while to get to our resort due to bumper to bumper traffic and us not really knowing our way around, trying to find a grocery store, and grabing a bite to eat. We landed at 5:00pm and didn't get to the resort till 8:30, we were tired.
Check in was a breeze at 8:30pm, no line-up at all. I made no requests, we were put in Tower 2 , the room was not refurbished and part of the carpet in the master bedroom leading to the bathroom area was frayed and coming out of the seam, so to speak. Then we couldn't get the air to work, it was hot in there. The dishwasher door wouldn't close, we thought it was broken. We got a "neighbour" to check the air and dishwasher in case we were doing something wrong, couldn't get the air on either (tried turning it to manual etc) or get the door to close on the dishwasher. We tried calling the front desk, nobody answered, I drove to get an answer. They apologized and immediately assigned us a new room. I get back to the room, and my husband says "The air just kicked in!" So I called down and apologized for our impatience, I was too tired to try to drag our stuff to another room, I had already 1/2 unpacked, so we just stayed in the room.
The first day we went to Seaworld and it was a huge mistake. I was really missing "Disney" and wishing we had of stayed on site. I think if we had gone to MK I may have not felt that way. When we got back to our room, we tried to call our parents from our room, but we couldn't. Dial 9, thenthe number, it wouldn't allow us. We couldn't even order pizza. We tried calling the front desk and got no where. So we sucked it up and used our cell phone, ouch . We are from Canada, so it was expensive! The next day we continued to bother the front desk till they finally agreed to send someone over. The technician said they needed to re- register us into the phone system. He said it should be done by the next morning. Was it done, nope. So when we got back that day, I called the from desk and complained again. I told them what the tech said and that I couldn't order pizza. He offered to connect me to the pizza place and I said no I'd like the phone fixed,we wanted to call our family. Five minutes later it was fixed. Ahhhhh. Things just went uphill from there.
So a few bumps in the road, some our fault, some their fault, but once we got in the swing of things we really liked it there. The dishwasher we also figured out, but that wasn't too much of an issue, we don't mind handwashing a few dishes, we had breakfast almost every day, but just simple things like toast, cereal, we ordered pizza one night and we had sandwiches one night. We didn't care weather the room was refurbished or not, and we the carpet didn't bother us, and the best part was I didn't trip over it (I tend to be clumsy
)
We loved the location, the kids loved the activities, having a 2 bedroom for 12 nights for $100 /night from Ken just can't be beat. We may stay on site again , not sure, but now that we know our way around, and the ins and outs of the resort, we would definately stay there again!!
Oh and we got no pizza flyers under our door, we didn't find the resort too big to walk anywhere, and we only got 1 phonecall which my daughter answrd before I could stop her,from the timeshare people, but I nicely told the lady no, and that was that.
