WWYP: 3+4 BTB Dream or 7 night Fantasy?

I would do a B2B if I could keep the same room. Otherwise it’s kind of a pain to have pack and unpack just to move rooms.

I would do the BTB because the Fantasy is my least favorite ship and the Dream is my daughter's favorite. I would also love to do CC twice and see Beauty and the Beast twice. Like others have said though, I would only do it if I could have the same room--I hate packing and unpacking.

I've done both multiple times and enjoyed both. I think it comes down to what fits your schedule and budget best and really what you want most out of this trip. Both have plusses and minusses, and those can be different to different people.

Finally booked the 7-night Fantasy.
As you say, pros and cons on both but what did it for us was the we agreed that the 7-night 'feels' longer as you're at sea for a longer period of time. We thought losing 1/2 a day at port for the turnaround wasn't worth the 'experience'.
Also the 7-night was, strangely, cheaper than I thought.. close to $500 less.

Yes, longer cruises do tend to cost less per night than shorter cruises.

Depends on the kind of cruise/vacation you're looking for. We did a B2B because we didn't intend to get off the ship much - we're not really beach people so we don't even spend much time on CC. We intended to spend it mostly on the ship, using the amenities and participating in the activities there. We didn't personally find the turnaround day to be terribly disruptive. We took our iPads with us to read while we waited which is pretty much what we would have done if it had been a sea day so the most inconvenient part was getting off the ship to go through customs. That took maybe 30 minutes (and it's so much easier when you don't have to hunt for luggage and haul it with you). We liked have repeat shows and menus because we skipped some of the show nights and were able to either repeat meals that we really liked or try something different that we'd seen the first time.

If you really enjoy time on the ship or like CC, the B2B might work better. If you want to experience more of the ports, then the 7-day might be better. There's not a huge difference between the Dream and the Fantasy but there are some so if you want to see it for yourself, the B2B would work. We're doing a 7 day on the Fantasy next year (Eastern) and we may not even bother to get off the ship. It just happened to fit with our schedule better - as the 3/4 day B2B on the Dream did a few years ago - so that's what essentially tipped the balance for us. Does one fit with your timing better?

We priced out a B2B for February versus an Eastern on Fantasy (SWDAS). We had already done the SWDAS, but enjoyed it and would have repeated it for the right price. The cost difference ended up over $1300 cheaper to do the B2B with two stops at Castaway.

Posting this with the caveat that it really depends on the time of year you are looking at, as I am fairly certain that SWDAS is what kicked the price so much higher for the Fantasy that week.

For our time of year, the B2B on the dream was cheaper than a week on the Fantasy. Again it was during the Fantasy Special sailings. I don't remember if it was Star Wars or Marvel. I don't need a theme day to pay extra for when I don't really care for it.
