Hey Everyone!
I could really use some advice.
We are currently booked on a back to back on the Wonder in March. Originally there were supposed to be 5 of us so we booked two staterooms (one of which we need HA).
One person backed out, so it would now be more than economical to all be in one stateroom... but when I called DCL to do that they couldn't put 4 people in our stateroom at this time (lifeboats, occupancy etc) and there were no accessible rooms available for 4 people.

Moving into on stateroom will be $1000 difference!

Do I:
a) keep both staterooms for now and keep calling DCL in hopes that at some point people will cancel etc and we can move all four people into our stateroom?

b) move all four of us into a non accessible stateroom (locking in our price of a quad) and check DCL multiple times a day for a HA room to open up that we can move into?

Which is less risky or has a better chance of panning out?
Thanks for the advice!

If you NEED the HA room, I wouldn't give yours up on the hope that one becomes available. I'd go for option A.

I would 100% keep the Handicap Accessible room if you need it. There are fewer of those onboard than other cabins so your odds are much less. If you can stomach $1000 worth of inconvenience if you don't get a handicap accessible room, then do that.

Other things to consider are the cancellation timeframes without having to lose deposit and also that the room rates change constantly, so I am not smart enough to know if you wait to change rooms later if you have to pay the prevailing rate or what the rate was when you booked. There are some experts around who might help you.

What would you do if you booked all 4 into a standard stateroom and no HA opened up to move into? Would you have to cancel altogether? Or force out the passenger(s) who needs the HA? If you cannot move to another HA room, keep the one you have unless willing and able to cruise without that accommodation.

I'm not sure what you mean by "locking in the price of a quad." You have locked in the tier pricing from the date you originally booked -- at least for 2 or 3 of you. If you change your stateroom (not cancel and re-book) you will have prices that were in place the day you first booked. So if 3 of you are in 1 stateroom right now, those 3 would retain original pricing tier; adding 1 more would be at current prices when you add, but if you wanted to even it out you could just split the full cost by 4 of you.

How are your passengers currently split up? 2+2 or 3+1? If it's 3+1, another option is to move one of you to the "single" so nobody gets stuck with the full fare single. If you haven't already canceled out the original 5th passenger, you should be able to change the name without any difference in fare.

But, again, unless you are will to cruise in a standard stateroom -- don't give up the HA stateroom.

I hope it all works out for you. Enjoy your cruise!

We definitely need the HA.
So after calling 3 times today a quad opened up for our HA room on the second leg of our cruise... So now I feel more comfortable that between now and PIF the quad will open up for the first cruise in our B2B

I think with March you are still far enough away from the pay in full date that you have a decent chance of something opening up. Good luck!
