I'm so sorry to hear that. I did 6 months of traditional (hemo) dialysis. I didn't ever feel well on it. I do at home peritoneal dialysis now. It's much better.

Yes. My mom did a couple weeks of traditional dialysis then was able to go on peritoneal. She was actually able to continue working for several months because of it. In fact, she and my dad was planning on taking and extended weekend trip out of town before she ended up in the hospital with kidney stones she couldn't pass. Things went downhill for her after that (had a stroke on the operating table then broke her ankle). She was never a candidate for transplant though.
