Heck yeah I'd go!:lmao: Pay as much cash as you can, really cut back your expenses, have a garage sale, etc. I would price tickets /car/off site hotel seperately...then price a package(also Disney will transport you from MCO ,so no car rental)...haven't tried the skyauction thing..but I have heard good things about it.Also, we spend usually the first and last day just enjoying the resort, also usually a day or 2 in between park visits we do Dtown Disney and pools..no tickets used on those days, and I get no expiration so we always have tix. for next trip when we will usually do Universal and just maybe a couple of days at Disney. So use your air tix, use leftover Disney tix(maybe family could get Disney gift cards for kids for Xmas/etc),and I know you are trying to get out of debt:thumbsup2, but if you are 100 percent sure you can pay it off on time you could get a Disney Visa and they usually have a 6 month interest free plus discounts on packages to Disney(they did have 40% off hotel offer going on,not sure if its your dates), but maybe only do that if you're super disiplined.;)

I would go.... the airfare is a huge expense that would be covered. I would stay in a value, share Cs, whatever it took to get myself down there. LOL!

Yeah, I vote that you try and see if you can swing it.

Just out of curiosity, what on earth happened with SWA that they not only refunded your tickets but then gave you free ones? SWA is customer friendly, but that's a HUGE "I'm sorry" even for them!

Do the tickets have to used by Sept 2010 or do you have to book new tickets by then. If it is the latter - you could hold out going til Spring of 2011. Just a thought - not sure how the tickets are worded..

SAVE big until then, every extra cent put in a Disney fund, cut out all extras, have a garage sale, etc. and put all $ in the fund. The goal being if you have enough, then you will go. Continue paying down the debt at the same time.
Good thought about when the tickets have to be used, you could book and maybe give yourself more time to save. Check into Disneyland...it's still great fun! You could stay less days and save $ on hotel, tickets and food.

Would going to Disneyland be cheaper? Could you look into that?

Not usually. Every time I've priced out trips between the two, you can get a longer stay for cheaper at WDW. But every time we've gone with DLR, go figure! :)

OP, budget it out, make it happen.

And you might be amazed at the little bits of money you'll find along the way to be thrown at your debts.

I know that I have got tickets that said they could not be sold or transferred, but I have given my free vouchers away, and have received them from others. When received from others, they booked the trip under my name and paid with their voucher. Maybe you can give/sell your vouchers after all.

Let's just say we got one last thrill ride from our Disney trip with a jump down the evacuation slides of the aircraft...

I'd go. Airline tickets can be a big expense, so you're saving money on that. Due to your previous posts, I would say go. Sounds like you all could use a break. Just make sure DW knows that you are seroius about the debt payoff and no more WDW trips for xxx years AFTER this trip. Hope you're recovery goes well, and you get your debts paid off soon!:grouphug:

I totally agree on this!

My Dh works retail and has one heck of a busy time coming up (heck it has already started) and we will be within spitting distance of getting our debt paid off by Feb (all things being equal we should be debt free by next August- even with a trip), so he begged me to go, and while I would prefer to get that debt paid off ASAP he needs something to get him through. He really does not like what he does for a living, so how can I refuse when he is the primary money maker and never complains about how miserable I am sure he is.

**I have made him promise that we will not go on another trip until we are debt free and have saved every penny for the trip!

I vote have fun but stay within your means!
