WWYD? offered free upgrade

Haven't gotten my paper confirmation yet, but all is correct on the WDW website and I had a CM on the phone today (giving my flight information for ME) who seemed to be unfamiliar with the upgrade - I think he was as excited for us as I am!! He just kept saying, "Whoa you guys really lucked out. Do you know what an incredible good deal this is? Upgrade of a lifetime AND free dining!" I'll consider that my confirmation.

We got our confirmation paper yesterday!!Yours should be coming soon!!

I read on one of the threads that the pool with the slide closes at 10:00

The slide closes, but we've been allowed to still swim in the pool after 10 pm.

Yes, this is our plan: Be at the parks when they open, ride all of our favorites, and then go enjoy our villa @ SSR and then get ready for our ADR for dinner! Can't wait!!! 78 more days!!!

I just got my paper confirmation in the postal mail . . . still can hardly believe my good luck! Free dining and DVC upgrade? Man oh man.

I got my confirmations in the mail today. Free dining and DVC upgrade

This was supposed to be a budget vacation.

Originally we were going to do 2 nights at AKL then 2 nights in Tampa with my mom and then 6 nights at POP with free dining. Well then I found out about the 40%off code so we decided to do the dining plan. Well when free dining came out I only wanted ressies from 8/26-9/1 but there was no availability, then Canadian Guy posted about length of stay effecting availabilty so we booked 8/26 -9/5 saying we cancel the extra days. Then DH said well let's just stay for the extra days. Sweet, I wasn't going to complain. Then after looking at hotels in Tampa, we decided to extended our AKL poprtion of the trip from 2 nights to 5 nights then we got the upgrade to a 1BR villa at OKW for 10 nights!!!!

So our budget trip turned into a 15 night blaster Deluxe vacation Holy Crap!!!

Haven't recieved my confirmation letter as of yet. But, on Monday I recieved my balance of $34.24, showing the DVC upgrade. How funny, I told my husband now how are we going to swing that.

Don't ask me why I allowed hubby to make that payment.

Wow, great upgrades! I believe good things happen to good people! We were booked at POP, switched to CBR, then CSR & my final ressie change is to AKL. Did I think we could swing AKL this year? No way, we were just at CSR in March/April. While I am happy that I will be surprising my kids b/c my MIL & coming & we are staying at AKL, my checkbook would be happier if I were paying for a POP & staying at AKL/SSR or OKW. Who knows maybe they'll upgrade others at check in. ENJOY!!!!!!!

I would JUMP on it! If SSR is too big---try OKW. You'll LOVE having a studio room!! We are DVC, originally purchased SSR, we think it's a beautiful resort, but we adore VWL---so we sold and bought there---if WDW is offering this over POP, overcrowded is probably an understatement---good luck with whatever you choose.

I can't help wondering why the upgrade email had all these requirements that they didn't hold us to. We weren't supposed to be able to combine it with any other promotion (but we still have free dining), and we were supposed to pay our balances in full when activating the upgrade (I've only heard of a couple times where that happened).

I am of course not complaining.

But am I curious. Were the Values that severely overbooked, that they just said, "to heck with the requirements, we just gotta get people outta there"? Or were things merely uncoordinated at CRO?

Our ressie was totally paid already and after the upgrade we had a $2.67 credit! We also received our reservation update in the mail yesterday!!!!! Yahoo!

Yes, you do need a code. The upgrades were given out to people booked at value resorts with a checkin date between 8/26 - 9/1. A email was sent to the people selected. They had to call WDW with the code they were given to get the upgrade to SSR or OKW.

Woww, that is great !! I live in Argentina and had visit Disney more than 14 times. Never received a code...I just called to see if I had one and no luck. Last year I went 3 times to Disney. The last time on December for the bounceback program. You are very lucky!! I will be back on september 8. That code was only for those dates you've told me? Sorry for my poor english, and thanks again. VERO.

Y'know, I was wondering about that too! The first thing I said to myself when I saw the email (after jumping around doing the happy-dance) was, "Oh crap, I can't keep free dining and I have to pay it off sooner than I expected to." BUT after reading here how many people kept their free dining - which I was willing to consider giving up for the upgrade, since it's worth a lot more than I'd pay OOP for food - I decided to call anyway and try. I had our credit cards out and ready to pay it off, and then I learned that not only could we keep the free dining, but our original due date didn't change!! I think they just have to put those disclaimers on there for legal reasons, although I can't imagine what those might be. But heck, I'm not questioning it or complaining! I'm headed to SSR, yippeee!!
