Darn it, we're on a late flight and won't arrive until after 10:30pm at the earliest. So much for the room request!

Hey we'll be taking an afternoon break on 9/01, count me in on the party! We want to check out the activities and games too. How fun!

I've been thinking about it, now that I saw my dates were sold out for values. I wouldn't take the upgrade to OKW or SS they're too spead out for me to rely on disney transportion and I'm flying so I won't have a car. If I could stay at BC/VC or WL I'd take it. Otherwise I'm going to stay at Pop, my dad and I don't spend much time in the room anyway. We're out for park opening and back after park close, so we don't need a nice pool or any other adminities that they offer. But I still have that list of resorts I've always wanted to stay at.

I would like to say congraulation to all of you on your large upgrades we unfortunately cant go during this time due to dh wont go with all the heat since he can barely tolerate June heat and August is worse and we cant go in September dueto DD will beginning 8th grade and DS will beginning 10 grade so they nreally need to be in school so congats to all of you and i wish you good luck if you are trying recieve the upgrade

I can understand how some might feel this way....but the bus service is just fine at OKW. There are 5 bus stops in the resort, so you're never far from one of them. So being spread out is not an issue as far as the busses go. And the grounds are beautiful.
I've had longer walks when I was placed in the 80's and 90's section at POP to the one bus stop.
But I'm sure you'll have a good time wherever you stay. I, personally, would have taken the upgrade in a heartbeat.

We have always stayed at the value resorts for the simple fact that we only sleep and shower there. But, now were staying at OKW and love the pictures of the resort.I can see myself renting a boat or sitting by the pool drinking an ice tea. But, we only get one trip to Disney and he thinks we need to spend all out time at the parks. Anyways, OKW here we come

There are other nice hotels, but there is no other WDW, so while there, take advantage of whats exlucsive there.

Yeah, i am definitly in the mindset to leave the parks around 2-3pm, head back to the room, cool off, shower, pool, and head back to the parks around 5-6pm or to dinner or something, but definitly not an all day trooper. I am at Pop 8/25, and then at OKW 8/26-9/4, so 11nights total, 10 nights at OKW.

Anyone have an idea whats my best bet to go from POP on 8/26 and then to get to OKW w/Luggage? best time to check out of Pop and best time to get to OKW and best transportation option?

See, that's one of the biggest perks of DVC membership for us (and no, I'm not trying to "sell" anyone!): We can slow down because we know we'll be back at WDW next year, and the year after, etc. So it leaves us more time to enjoy the resort.

I'm psyched that so many of you are going to get to check out SSR and OKW.....I look at it like "we" (meaning DVC members) get to "show off" our homes to a bunch of our friends....

First off, I'd check with the front desk at the Pop...they may very well be able to move your luggage for you. Just pack a small bag with necessites (swim suits, etc) that you might need for the day....

Then, I'd head over to OKW relatively early in the AM (10 or 11 AM). Probably your best bet is a bus to Downtown Disney and then a boat ride over to OKW...but really you COULD take a bus to any theme park and just hop a bus back to OKW (this, of course, is assuming POP will arrange for your luggage to be moved...and I think they will).

They were not even excited about the upgrade. I was mad about that!
Shes like as long as theres a bed thats all we care about.

My wife and I love Disney, and we would not normally be able to stay at a DVC resort, but are actually interested to see what DVC has to offer for what it cost. This is the perfect option for us to experience DVC resorts to see if we like it and would want to get involved with it. So thanks for "sharing " your home with us!

I just got my paper confirmation in the postal mail . . . still can hardly believe my good luck! Free dining and DVC upgrade? Man oh man.

We've never been much for the pools, but we do always take that afternoon break. So, it'll be nice to have a few more square feet, a balcony (woot!), a coffee maker, a fridge! And a microwave to heat up those leftovers from DDP.

The 2006 version of the UG rates the bus service at SSR as a C, whereas POP gets an A, so I find myself debating whether to rent a car. I doubt I will though . . . I've been wanting to try out ME at least once, and this trip is as good time as any. (DH was laid off last week, so I'm worried about money, might as well not spend the extra money on a car.)

I read on one of the threads that the pool with the slide closes at 10:00. The quiet pools will remain open as long as people are quiet. If they get too loud security will close them down.

Haven't gotten my paper confirmation yet, but all is correct on the WDW website and I had a CM on the phone today (giving my flight information for ME) who seemed to be unfamiliar with the upgrade - I think he was as excited for us as I am!! He just kept saying, "Whoa you guys really lucked out. Do you know what an incredible good deal this is? Upgrade of a lifetime AND free dining!" I'll consider that my confirmation.
