WWYD??? mama melrose or 50's PT??

What would you pick? Fantasmic! package at mama melrose or 50's PT? We have been to mama melrose 2 times and have seen fantasmic never been to 50's. Which is better? TIA

Personally I really like Mama Melrose, but I like Italian food better than home cooking. 50's to me is really fun, and it has the faux rudeness that 50's diners are famous for.

We've only eaten once at 50"s PTC and would never eat there again just because I had a bad experience. Ordered the fried chicken and Grandma's punch- I think it had whisky in it- and I was sick as a dog for the rest of the trip. Never been so nauseaus in my life

We have been to Mama Melrose's twice and despite the lack of good reviews we've always enjoyed our meals there. Very good basic Italian food- even pizza good enough for my picky eater I like Chicken Parm my husband got Pasta with Vodka sauce which he enjoyed too. This would be my choice 100%!

You can't do a F! package at 50's PT. Mama Melrose is yummy but so is 50's PT. We LOVE Prime Time.... it is one of our must-do's. It's up to you... it depends on how much you depend on the reserved seating at F!? If you don't mind going in and sitting down an hour or hour and a half before F! starts then definitely give Prime Time a try. It is a fun restaurant especially if you get a good server. The fried chicken is awesome. We also love the onion rings for an appetizer and the smore's for a dessert!

50s is fun for a one time visit...not sure if I'd go back though. Try something new and go with 50s (though I don't think it's a Fantasmic option?)

50's is one of our must do's for lunch on each trip. The "aunts", "uncles", "moms" and "cousins" can be hit or miss. Don't go assuming that your CM is going to be as into it as some of the others. We personally don't think of that as a make or break on our dining experience. My girlfriend usually gets a sandwich and I like their chicken pot pie. Then we split a shake a s'mores for dessert. We like it for the food, if we get a CM that is into it, great, but if not it's still a good meal.

I am not a fan of MM (or most other Italian restaurants on property). I tried it, it bored me. There are much better Italian restaurants where I am from and I don't like waisting Disney meals eating at places that are better at home. We also aren't fond of the F! packages. The times you have to eat are a bit awkward for us and the F! seating isn't all that great of a view. We'd rather wait and get there early to get better seats.

We love 50's Prime Time so would definately prefer to eat there again. The atmosphere and servers are great fun and all the dishes we have tried so far have been fab. The milkshakes and coke floats are reason alone to go there!! In saying that we tried Mama Melrose a few weeks ago and thought the atmosphere and setting was beautiful and food had loads of choices but thought the Via Napoli in Epcot had much better quality and taste of dishes. We did the Fantastic dining package and although the meal was average the fact that we could wander along into a reserved seating area only half an hour before the show was due to start was amazing!

The menu at MM is more appealing to me personally than the menu at PTC. I am also not a fan of the server interaction aspect of PTC. Of course, if you prefer home cooking-type food and that kind of banter between waitstaff and diners, then give PTC a try.

Since you've seen famtasmic before and been to mama melrose, i would skip the Fantasmic package and try 50's for a change. Then get in the regular line for fantasmic. Its a fun place and a must do at least once in your life. You gotta try it!

You are talking apples and oranges...I like MM and we are going back there again in Oct but that is because we just ate at 50s PT in May

MM is not very friendly for fussy eaters, but it has the better food if you are adventurous. Great atmosphere too.

50sPT is more fun. Safety food.

I really want to try something new and could go either way with fantasmic! My DH wants to do MM and see Fantasmic! since last time we saw it in dec it was ice cold and not as enjoyable. 50's just seems so fun! but I dont wanna choose 50's and be disapointed oh the stress lol! Do I please my DH or me lol!

We personally prefer mama melrose over 50's. Everyone seems to enjoy the antics of 50's but it wasn't for us. I would go with mama melrose.

We visited in May and didn't want to eat at the Fantasmic restaurant choices. So we ate dinner around 7:00 and went to the second show of Fantasmic at 10:00pm. We walked right in to Fantasmic and had great seats. There were plenty of seats available at the later show. We didn't have to wait at all to get in. If you don't mind going to a later show, that is the way to go, IMO. And, you can still eat at 50's PT!

50's PT is a must do for us, we enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Never been to MM but I don't care for Italian food.
