Hear me out - we will be in Epcot in the moring/afternoon, but want to see the Osborne lights that night in HS - I have a 4PM for dinner at Hollywood and Vine - I can also get a 4PM at the Rose and Crown in Epcot - am I better off staying in Epcot to eat and then seeing the lights? Will I have enough time - I think HS closes at 8 or 9pm that night

What kind of food do you like? Hollywood & Vine is a buffet (no characters at dinner), while R&C is a sit down venue. I've not had H&V recently, but I really like R&C. Last year, my family had dinner in Epcot and then headed over to DHS to see the Osborne lights. With a 4 pm dinner, you'll be done by 6 (at the latest). Another thirty minutes to get to DHS, so you should have at least an hour or more to see the lights. For us, that was plenty of time.

We did not care for H&V. If you will be in EPCOT, lot's of good choices there.

We probably have standards that are too high for H&V - I switched it to the Rose and Crown :)

Hollywood and Vine is one of only 2 restaurants in all of WDW we will NEVER return to.
We really enjoy Rose and Crown
Enjoy

What about eating somewhere at Yacht (Captain's Grille) or Beach Club (Cape May Cafe, Beaches & Cream), or Boardwalk (Kouzzina)?

We have been to many an Osborne lights at HS and in my opinion it is much better to eat in the HS at 4pm BUT there is no way you could ever get me to eat at H&V every again...it was soooo bad.

You def want to be in the midst of the lights for when they turn them on, dont chance being late for it by eating at another park

I would try for 50's PT, MM or Sci Fi and if those are not open then eat regular CS or have a nice big TS lunch and eat at your resort when you get done with the parks

Dusk. So around 6:30. However, I disagree that you need to be there before/when they turn on. I'd say go late. As late as possible. If the park "closes" at 8:00 then get there around 7:45. They won't kick you out. You can hang out for a looooooooooong time after the parks are "closed" before they ever actually clear the park out. The crowds will be lighter later than they will when they turn the lights on.

No way we will ever return to H&V. Worst buffet in WDW we've ever had. Have a decent meal somewhere and take your time getting to the lights.

Good choice not going to H&V. We are pickey too and it was not good. I'm sad HS doesn't have a quality sit down we love. We have not been to MM to be fair and 50s was okay but not a must.

You can try The Boardwalk area as mentioned if you don't want to go to EPCOT but R&C sounds nice!:thumbsup2

We only have one night to see the Osborne lights on our November trip, we have an ADR at 50's Prime time for 3:45pm this way we have time to relax and enjoy our meal and then be at HS to see the lighting, we love Rose and Crown but don't want to spend time traveling back and forth.

This is how we have learned to do it (after making lots of mistakes)...excellent advice! At 6:30...you are herded like cattle in a sea of people. Instead, wait until almost closing time...you will have far fewer people to deal with and there will be soooo much more enjoyment!

Excellent advice Golf4food - go late and relax.....

Plus R&C is pretty good and if they have entertainment in the bar area - very fun!
