Summer 2019
Family of 5

My family has already have booked the July 2019 11 night Southern Caribbean on Fantasy. This is the year that my hubby and I celebrate 20 years of marriage.

Just found out Spring Break isn’t around Easter next year. For the almost the same price as the 11 night we could do ALL of the following (Two cruises and one WDW trip) We always drive so no flights to worry about.

* 5N Cruise Disney Magic 3/2109 (spring break)
* 4N Cruise Disney Dream 8/2109 (during our actual anniversary)
* 7 day Park Hopper to combine land and sea in 8/2019 (DVC Member so room can be covered)

Pretend you are me and what would you do....

My preference would be the 5 night Magic. We prefer longer cruises, and I'm not really that impressed with the Dream itineraries.

I'd do the Magic in March -- the weather is much cooler and doesn't feel as sticky as it does in August.

I think it would depend on whether your family is a "port" family or a "cruise" family. If it doesn't matter where you go as long as you're on the ship then I'd go for the 2 cruises; if new ports and adventures are what makes a dream vacation I'd keep the S. Caribbean cruise.

Congrats on 20 years a little early!

I would rather cruise than go to the parks, so I'd stay with the 11 night cruise. However, if your family likes going to the parks, then doing the 2 shorter cruises and WDW would be a good deal. Being able to do 2 cruises 5 months apart would also be nice, especially if you live somewhere that still gets snow in March.

Well, the 11 night doesn't come up all the time, so that's special, but I think I'd do the other one - 9 total nights on board, then the 7 nights at WDW. BUT, since you'll have to drive from Miami to Port Canaveral on the morning of the 8th, you might want to do the 7 days at WDW and then take a 4N on the Dream the next week.

Oh wait, you meant you'd do the Magic in March (03) of 2019, the Dream in August (08) of 2019 and also a 7n WDW trip... so 3 vacations instead of one. I thought you meant you'd do them all at once.

I'd probably pick that because I like frequent breaks, but it is a lot of packing

Technically two vacations as the 4night cruise would be before the WDW trip but definitely part of the same vacation. So, it would be only one drive in March and another in August.

Remember the itineraries for the 2 shorter cruises might be the same. What if scenarios are tough because you aren't comparing apples to apples here. For me i would also stay with the 11 day. Its more of a once in a lifetime vacation, and can still be for your anniversary. Then perhaps opt for a shorter WDW trip in august for your actual Anniv. (but as a florida resident why anyone would actually want to be in Orlando in Aug is beyond me!)

Is the March cruise a Marvel day at sea cruise? And, if so, would that be of special interest to your family?

2 cruises PLUS the WDW trip? Or the 11-night? If I'm understanding this correctly I'd take the first option. While the 11-night is interesting, I'd pick the first option since it's two vacations instead of one.

I think I'd choose the two vacations over one. We were originally booked on the 11 night, but it gets back too late for the start of school. Taking more frequent trips is awfully nice.

I wonder if you'd prefer to have the cruise at the end of that trip though. It seems more relaxing that way. Also, prices the to be lower as you get later in August.

I’d do the 11 night and come up with something cheap and fun non-Disney for spring break, but then again I’m definitely not a parks person. Longer cruises are amazing (I say this after just having come off a 14 night so I may be biased ;)).

Personally I'd rather do the 11-night & feel fully immersed in the long cruise, and enjoy the less-typical itinerary and some activities that are unique to long cruises.

Having 3 trips vs. one.... no brainer.... I’d do the 3 trips
