The new Fastpass+ is causing a new wrinkle for my family's summer vacation and I'd love some advice from those in the know. Sorry, this is kind of complicated:
We have a 10-day trip scheduled for this summer. We booked room-only as each member of our family has unused, 1-day Base tickets from a prior vacation package and we thought we'd just upgrade them when we arrive. In the past we would have used the tickets on our first park day, then gone to Guest Services and upgraded them to 10-day base tickets, using price bridging to maximize our savings (tickets are from a January 2012 package). But now my 1-day tickets are a problem because it means I can only book 1 day of Fastpass+ in advance.
So now my plan is to buy a new set of 10-day base tickets from Undercover Tourist and link those to MDE so I can book my Fastpass+ for all 10 days to get the most of the new system. So we don't face this same problem again on a future trip, I figure I'll also take our 1-day tickets down and pay to have them upgraded to 10-day base tickets to be used in the future. But if I do an upgrade to a completely unused ticket, I lose the "savings" I could otherwise have enjoyed by price bridging to their current value. But it seems way too risky (impossible?) to consider doing all the above, but instead using the 1-day tickets our first day, doing a price bridge to 10-day tickets to be used this trip, but having our new Undercover Tourist tickets removed from our MDE account and saved for a future trip. Am I right to fear this would/could wipe out all our Fastpass+ selections?
So, if you could follow along, WWYD?
