Hubby and I are thinking of going on another cruise…I am torn between going on the Wish for the first time or going to see Lookout Cay for the first time…

Which would you pick and why?

Thanks for the feedback!

For me it would depend on whether the magic was PC or PE (MCO is just an easier airport for me to fly into)

That’s a tough one to be honest. You’d have to ask yourself which experience means the most to you? LC is one day while the Wish is the duration. I do like that the Wish has the great food court area on the pool deck. If Wish is doing CC, I’d likely do Wish and see LC on a different one. If it’s a “one and done” cruise, you need to decide which experience holds more value to you/your family. Beach day or overall ambience.

I was recently faced with the same decision. I was choosing between back-to-back Wish cruises (7 nights total) or back-to-back Dream cruises (9 nights total w/ a stop at LC), I ultimately went with the Wish. MCO is an easier airport for me. But more importantly, LC was only one day out of nine. The rest of the Dream cruises were the same old stuff that I've done a bunch of times. So, the Wish won!

We have been on the Magic and fell in love with it...that is why I am second guessing trying the Wish...LOL
Personally I’m all about trying the different boats. Opinions vary so much on the Wish, I’m happy I experienced it for myself. I don’t know that any ship is perfect but we can’t piece them together. Since you’ve done the Magic, I’d want the experience of a different boat. Enjoy!

You are going to lots of opportunities to cruise on the Triton class ships for decades to come.

If you missed either Cay Day, which ship would leave you most satisfied?

I am one who prefers the airport - hotel - port situation in Ft Lauderdale better. Everything’s within miles of the others.

Why not do both? Only partly joking, you have time to spread out your experiences. I think it’s fun to try different ships. I disagree that all triton class ships will be the same, but I’m into theming. And I really enjoyed exploring the Wish, looking forward to the Treasure. As for LC, as amazing as it already sounds, so well worth a visit, I think many people would agree it’s only going to get better as the plants grow in and Disney continues to work out a few new start wrinkles. Either choice, you’re going to have a great time.

I’ve not been on the Wish yet but I would still do the Magic, Tangled > Frozen for me and I would want to get as many nights on the classics while I still can.

I know a lot of people are concerned retirement of the Magic and Wonder is imminent... but you can book both through April 2026... Not feeling the rush myself :) Guess we will need to wait for Late 2026 schedules to be released to find out more.

We have been on both in the past year or so. Yes, including a stop at the new island.

In the OP's position I'd go with the Wish. That's because with the new ship you get an entire cruise of experiences. With the new island all you get is one day of new experiences.

I would choose the Wish. I believe Wish has cruises that include LP. In trying to be accommodate relatives we find ourselves on two Fantasy 4D's going to both LP & CC or I'd be switching. I did notice the Wish cruises run approximately 1K more per couple compared to the Fantasy.

The Wish, along with being new with new shows/MDR venues, has the adult area above the Aft. We enjoy the Aft for the larger verandas and the new Wish configuration allows us to avoid the noisier areas of the ship. We also really enjoyed the mezzanine seating area to watch the Funnel Vision. Somehow the imagineers figured out the sound allowing the noise from the pools to disperse better.

Good to know. We have only cruised out of PC…If we fly into MCO, we could try the Brightline….

Thanks for sharing these insights!

I would choose the Magic over the Wish. The ports would be irrelevant, but seeing the new island would be nice.
