I currently have 2 rooms booked for CSR towards the end of July. I decided to get a quote for 1 room at the contemporary and the price comes within pennies of my CSR ressie.

I’m a bit torn in what to choose. I have always wanted to stay at the Contemporary but with a theme park view which this isn’t. However, being a family of 5, the appeal of having 2 bathrooms is nice. We will have a car so transportation is not an issue. MK isn’t the focus of our trip.

What would you choose?

If you are counting on connecting rooms at CSR be aware there is no guarantee that you will get them connected so that might be a factor in your decision. Is your CSR reservation in the tower? I'd be hard pressed to not stay at Contemporary, but with 5 - that's a tough call.

I have never had the desire to stay at the Contemporary but I do know that CSR is an awesome resort.

Thanks all for the feedback. I'm going to stick with the 2 rooms. I know connecting rooms are not guaranteed. Our kids are teens and tweens and aside from having a second bathroom, I had booked the 2 rooms so that everyone could sleep in a real bed during the trip. As this will be our first summer trip, I'm sure the heat will have quite an impact.

Good choice. Two bathrooms will be important when getting ready in the morning and having a real bed for everyone is better too. CSR is centrally located, so even though you have to bus everywhere, we never found it to be time consuming or inconvenient. IMO, CSR is also a much prettier resort - feels like a true vacation destination to me.

I love both resorts and have stayed at CSR often - I'd still go with CR if you haven't changed it. The convenience of being able to walk to the MK, and take the monorail to other resorts and Epcot is fantastic. I also love being able to walk out to the patio area and watch the fireworks. The CR is my favorite resort. Nothing can top the location and pure Disney energy in that resort for me. I'd say always go with the one that excites you the most vs. practical matters (other than money).

With two teen girls and not focusing on MK, seems like CSR is the way to go for you. More beds and more bathrooms sway that vote. While I love CR (pure Disney with the monorail running through and Mary Blair art, the theme park views and electric water pageant) the CSR is a very nice choice with more room to spread out which is important with teen girls. We stayed at GDT at CSR last year and loved it, felt very grand, but the bus situation there is not ideal.

Just boys here but still having a second bathroom and more space will be beneficial, I’m not too concerned about the buses as we will have a vehicle.

How old are the teens? Unless one is 18 or older, if you end up with rooms that don't connect Disney does require an adult sleeps in each room. If that isn't a big deal, and as the Mk isn't the focus of your trip, I would go with 2 rooms at CSR.

5 guests in your party, CSR is a great resort, 2 bathrooms. I would easily go with the CSR. I have not stayed at the Contemporary Resorts since I was a young child so I really don't remember much from it.

I have no desire to stay at csr, but love contemporary, so that’s my pick.

I'm not a fan of the Contemporary but I would rather spend the night locked in a companion restroom than repeat my last stay at CSR. To be fair, I've never liked CSR, and since the refurbishment I like it even less. The only reason I took a room at CSR last time is because they offered it as a free upgrade to my AoA mermaid room. I should have kept the value resort.

I love the CR but it sounds like CSR might be better for you so you can get two rooms and if you don't plan to go to MK often. Do you plan to dine around the MK area? If you have things planned on the monorail, then I would probably choose CR if it were me but I love the MK area.

Our family of four adults always used to share one room, to save money. But it took a loong time for everyone to get out the door in the mornings, there was a lack of privacy, and if DH started snoring.....there were complaints! We did stay in the Contemporary once, but on the lake view side. While it was a lovely view, I kept regretting the fact we weren't on the MK side. All that being said, we just returned from a week's stay at BWI, where I took advantage of a great discount and splurged for two connecting rooms. What a difference that made! Everyone slept soundly, we had much more room to spread out, and having two bathrooms made getting ready in the morning easy-peasy.
