For someone that knows how message boards work and has a 3 option question, I would honestly assume you would pay heed to the answers useful to you, ignore the rest, and read the poll results.

Looks like the people trying to help are being summarily dismissed as having faulty thought processes, or, being scolded in the most condescendent way possible.

Not at all. Insisting on opening the discussion beyond the scope of what the available choices are is not even remotely helpful. Don't interpret efforts to keep the discussion on the three choices that are the ones under consideration as "condescendent" especially given how clearly the question was worded in the OP.
