WWYD? Budget Trip to See Osbourne Lights--MVMCP too?

I'm heading back to Disney just see the Osborne Lights (and celebrate DD6 birthday). We just had a deluxe stay in September so I want to keep the costs down as much as possible for this trip.

In September, we attended the first MNSSHP, and as you know it was a mess. Last year we went to the MVMCP and had a nice time. For this trip we will be going 12/17-12/21 in just enough time to catch one of the last parties.

At $300+ for my family, I'm not sure if it is worth it. Some of the Holiday events like the parade will be available for us later in the trip, and I'm afraid that the final party days may be super crowded. After this trip, I plan to take a break from Disney (2-5 years). I don't want to regret not doing the party, but not sure I can justify the expense.

What would you do?

TIA!

If you are trying to keep the cost down I would skip the party. Like you said the tickets are over $300. The Osbourne Lights don't cost anything extra. You have already been to a Christmas party so I wouldn't worry about it. You should have enough park days to do the MK on a non-party day. Just plan your park visits around the MVMCP. There are a lot of things to do around Disney for the Christmas season. Cheers!!!!!

We're not doing MVMCP either. I just can't see shelling out $300 for free cookies, hot cocoa and a parade. Beside there's no way our LO will be able to stand the park till close, 9:00pm is his max and he wants to go back to the resort and relax. I'll use the saving to eat holiday snacks/treats all through out the parks :)

The last two party nights (which is all you're going to be there for anyway) are going to sell out, and you'll be able to see the Christmas parade and Holiday Wishes during regular park hours from the 19-21 anyway. (And FYI, it's Osborne, not Osbourne.)

Since you will be there after the party ends and will get a chance to see the parade and Wishes then, I would not spend the money to go to the party.

This is good to know...maybe next year we will do this. Thanks :)

What are your other days like? What kind of tickets do you have?

I plan to do the Candle Light Processional with ADR for the first time, and hit all the parks. I'm debating cancelling AK since it's not one of our faves and we have so few days. Right now I have a 4 day base ticket. I will likely go to 5 days. I am also considering park hopper to maximize my time--I'm a park open to park close type of gal, and thought it might help us tour more efficiently. Also booked the Minnie ADR at H&V so I feel like we'll have enough 'Christmasy' things to do.

LOL, I didn't even like the cookies! I think they were snickerdoodle last year?

What I like the most about the parties is the exclusivity and easy access to rides. If they will be sell-outs, I don't think the value will be there for me :(

Do they also have the same stage shows and Wishes after the parties end?

I've always been a fan of the parties until this year. They seem oversold. The Halloween party was wall to wall people. More crowded than a regular day. The Star Wars package was the same way this year too.

I'd save the money. After 30 something years of going I've yet to attend a hard ticket party and haven't missed them at all. Haven't seen the Osborne lights either, my thoughts are you can't miss what you never had.
