Hi all

We are hoping to do another trip next Sept or Oct for 7 days, hopefully at either AKL, Contemporary or Yacht&Beach.

At the moment we could book with free dining but here's my issue. Last year we booked AKL for just over £1,000 through Expedia but Disney want closer to £2,000. Would you wait and hope you can get a room only deal or is £2k room only plus free dining and tickets on top an OK price (seems expensive for off season when we got August for half that).

The other issue is DH now refuses to fly anything but VA PE and we would have to wait for flight prices to see if the trip is viable and which dates are cheapest!

Even if we book through Disney now would we have to pay to change dates? And would we lose free dining if we then had to change the dates?

Help!

If you book with Disney the deposit will only be £100. Go through Quidco and get cashback and they will reduce it further. The cashback is usually paid quite quickly too :goodvibes (2% cahsback at the moment on a £2k booking would be £40 therefore making the deposit only £60)

Is the DDP of a value to you? I look at what meals I would book and pay for and compare this to see if free dining is a good deal. We like to eat offsite too still so use some credits for "extra" meals that I wouldn't pay for if we didn't have free dining (usually breakfasts).

There are no amendment charges if you booking becomes more expensive if you need to change date. There is if it gets less but not sure if it stays the same.

If there are just two of you - there is a good chance a room only deal might be cheaper and if its worth it you could cancel the booking you have and rebook the cheaper deal and only lose your deposit. :thumbsup2

Cashback was about £48 I think so I did consider offsetting it against the deposit to make it cheaper :)

I just don't want the risk of there being no rooms available and ending up paying the same in a few months but losing the free dining!

We tend to eat on site and part of the holiday for us is eating a sit down meal, I think we did 5/7 nights sit down last time. But alcohol isn't included so we would be leaving a large tip anyway and probably ordering expensive food to get our money's worth!

Thanks for your thoughts though :) can't believe we are planning to go three years in a row lol!
