WWYD - BoG during MNSSHP 6:35 or 8:50?

Hi, so we are a party of 3. DH, DD2 (turning 3 during the trip), and myself.

Our priorities for the party are 7 dwarves, Moana, Hallowishes, and some ToT. We may see other characters if time allows, but we plan to leave things open and would not be devastated if we didn't see any more. We are AP holders and have plenty of other MK days, so we are not too worried about doing rides. We are also not too interested in Hocus Pocus and may or may not do the parade. As you can see, this is going to be more of a slow, laidback kind of night for us and will go with the flow based on what DD2 feels up to.

I have an ADR for 6:35 and 8:50 at BoG. We have the specialty dessert ordered for DD2's birthday and seeing the Beast is a must for her. We will also all be dressed as Beauty and the Beast characters, so not doing BoG is not really an option. We might eat dinner but are leaning towards dessert only to save some time.

Keeping our priorities in mind, I'm inclined to do the 8:50 ADR for dessert only so that we can meet 7 dwarves and Moana before BoG and so we can see Hallowishes afterwards.

What would you do and why? Thanks in advance!

I would do the 6:35 and show up at least 15-20 minutes early and have the majority of the party unless you are planning to line up hours in advance for characters. that would really only give you a head start on one set of characters anyway (7 dwarfs?) but I think the 8:50 could really eat away at party time. If you get seated by your ADR time you could conceivably be done before the party starts.

If you think your DD will still be happy at 9pm, I'd prefer the later reservation myself. Seeing a few characters, then having a special dessert, then seeing Hallowishes, sounds about perfect! And the timing should work out dimensions if you're not planning to eat an full meal plus dessert at BoG. This would also allow you to line up earlier for the 7D, since that's a priority and their line is always crazy long!

If you are determined to meet the 7 dwarves, you should line up before the party starts, so right when your first ADR is. I would keep the 2nd one and get those 7D and Moana meet and greets in, then have a nice dessert and meet the Beast.

I guess from what I've been reading, 7 dwarves come out around 6:15, so we were planning to hop in line around 4:45, see them, and then head over to the line for Moana after seeing them. Or, if Moana comes out earlier as has been reported in some party reports, it would be vice versa. My only concern with the 6:35 reservation is that we most likely would not have time to do both before and would have to do one of them after.

This is kind of what I was thinking! DD will most likely be fine. She gets crazy happy when she's tired, so even better, right? :rotfl2:

Thanks! It's nice to see that this might work! Honestly, this is kind of funny though, because all of my other days are planned down to the minute and we are spending money on this Halloween Party and really only care about a few specific things and want to use this night just to soak in the atmosphere/feeling of it all :)

Sounds like a perfect plan to me. Lots of things "money can't buy" to be seen and done during the party time.

I also vote for the later ADR, assuming Hallowishes is at 10:00 pm. You will want to tell your server all you want are cupcakes and ask for the bill when you order, so you can get out in time to find a spot for the show. My own personal preference, but I would tip a little higher than normal when ordering so little.

Personal experience with a 6:20 ADR on a party night, they will NOT let you check in early. We tried, and we were turned away until 10 min before our ADR.

This! We do plan on tipping generously and agree wholeheartedly with you.

I would definitely do the late ADR. If you do the early ADR, be prepared to wait for 7D FOREVER!!!! Their lineups are ridiculously long. I've been to a few mnsshp, and thats just been my experience. Although I have heard that sometimes later at night the lines dwindle a bit? I havent seen it for myself though. :)

I would also add you may want to reconsider taking time to watch the parade. It is, in my opinion, the best parade Disney has done. And they've done a LOT of great parades! Personally, if you have AP's and many MK days, I would consider skipping BOG on party night and eat there a different day. Your little one is two and won't know or appreciate that she's meeting Beast exactly on her birthday. She'll probably really enjoy the trick or treating after all the waiting to meet characters. Either way, it's going to be awesome for all of you!!! Enjoy!

I would do the later dinner and then spend the first part seeing the characters and everything else. If you wait till after your 6:35 the lines will be much longer.

I don't think OP is concerned about the birthday as much as that because it's a MNSSHP, they can and will ALL dress up as Beauty characters. On any other night, they couldn't do that.

I second this!!!! 100%!!! Its honestly the best parade ever. I wouldnt miss it. I also think you should skip BOG on mnsshp night. There's so much to do on party night, you dont want to waste it at BOG when you can go on another night.

Thanks, everyone, for the input! We will probably stay and watch the later parade near the entrance so we can make a quick exit right afterwards. Hopefully, by just doing the specialty dessert with drinks, we can be in and out in 45min.

I would definitely do the later one. We've eaten around 5/5:30 pm before two parties and by the time we got out (party hadn't even started yet), the character lines were REALLY long. I also agree that you should try to watch the parade - it's SO good!

You could also try checking in earlier for the 8:50 pm reservation if it suits your schedule. We were at the first party this year (which I know was probably not as crowded as the later ones will be) and BOG was taking walk-ups

When we went to meet the 7 Dwarfs last year around 7pm there was a 2 hour wait. We went back at 10:30pm and only waited about 30 minutes. If you want to meet the dwarfs before 6:45pm I would get on line immediately when you enter the park. We personally wouldn't do BOG that late. Maybe if you keep trying you can get an earlier one - like at 4pm.
