So, I turn 35 in January and the whole "What Would You Celebrate?" theme has me itching to go for my actual birthday. Unfortunately, I'd have to go around New Year's, when airfare is high. We also probably can't get a reservation at this point, so we'll have to stay cash.

All told, it'll be > $3K for air, hotel, food, park tix, etc.
Plus, we're going next week (Woo hoo!).

My husband said, "Wouldn't you rather have points instead of a few days in Disney again?"

We have 160 at AKV and I'd only want a 35 (for my 35th birthday!) point add-on at BLT. I think we'd be able to stay a few nights every 3 years by banking/borrowing.

Sooo... What would you do?

No question--I would take the points--I would much rather have 50 years of memories than one trip.

oh--and I would make DH take me out for a VERY nice dinner!

Duh!!! Take the add on before he changes his mind.

If you want to stay at BLT take the points, I personally don't like it and would take the vacation instead.

I would also get the points - the birthday vacation is great but the points "keep on giving".

Yes, as previous posters have said, take the points!

I agree, take the points!

Thanks, Everyone!

Points seem like the winner! I don't know why I didn't think of it as a "50 year" gift or anything like that. Maybe b/c we already own?

We'll tour the models next week.. And hopefully return BLT owners.

Ok, I have to add one more..take the points but if you are not into BLT, take the money and add on elsewhere!!
