Okay- I am wondering what your opinions on this are.

I ordered something from Amazon. It was through another seller through Amazon. I paid for 3-5 day shipping. It was to be a Chirstmas present. I have still not received it. I did contact the seller but by that point the time had run out. I left negative feedback since not only did I pay to make sure it was here in time, the shipping method they chose had no record of the package.
They still can't find the package but have been so "kind" as to offer me a refund. Well since I never received the item that should happen anyway.
When I first contacted them they tried to tell me that it takes longer because it was coming from the opposite coast blah blah blah. Not true because I checked all the delivery times before I placed the order. Also, 3-5 day shipping is just that. 3-5 days. At any rate, they keep emailing me to change my feedback.
What would you do?

Depends on when I ordered it. 3-5 day shipping does not necessarily mean that I will receive it in 3-5 days. It means that I should receive it 3-5 days after they ship it. The Christmas season is notorious for extending shipping times. Now, if I ordered it on say December 10 and didn't receive it by Christmas, then I may leave negative feedback. Generally, though, I'd just ask for my money back and be happy with that.

I personally don't leave feedback until I get the item that I have ordered. Reasons being, I like to see if they shipped it when and how it was promised, and the condition of the item when it was received.

A couple years ago I ordered a gem from a lady in Texas, she had great feedback. She shipped it out as promised and I had a USPS tracking number that showed it left it's point of origin. It took more than 4 months to reach me!!!! I called USPS several times inquiring about it, with the "best" response being, "it's out there somewhere"!!! Well, duh!!!! I gave her the highest feedback because she held up her end of the bargain and the item was exactly as described.

Another time I had a surround sound system I purchased from Circuit City that went bad within the warranty period. We took it back to CC for them to repair. It was shipped out to the repair center that is approximately 3 hours from the store. Not sure of the shipping method they used, but they had records showing that it was shipped. Problem was, once it was shipped, it fell off the face of the earth!!! No records of it anywhere! CC immediately gave me a new and better surround sound system to replace it!

So, after dealing with these shipping experiences, unless I have proof that the seller did something wrong, I wait until I receive the item before leaving feedback. But in the meantime of receiving it, I expect the seller to stay in contact with me.

I have to add, if the seller said 3-5 day shipping and then tried to give me the "I'm shipping it from the other coast so it will take longer", I would not be happy. I would have wanted to know that BEFORE I purchased the item.

Well the thing is that USPS has no record of it at all. I don't think they shipped it. I also know that the shipping time is from when it was processed. I took all that into account when I ordered it. I guess I wouldn't be rubbed the wrong way if they had at least taken some accountability for it. Telling me because it was from the opposite coast that 3-5 day shipping isn't accurate is bull. It also stated guaranteed Christmas delivery if I went with the cheaper option which I didn't. So either way it should have been here. I got all of my other items, just nothing from this seller.
Hopefully it will come today. I want the items but I am annoyed that they were supposed to be here for Christmas and I paid extra for that and they still haven't arrived.

or one of their sellers (and I used it a LOT this season)..it gives you a time window for delivery...from the sellers it always allowed more time (let's say I ordered it on 12/12...the anticipated delivery date would read something like 12/19-12/24) if coming from a seller...and a LOT less time if coming from Amazon itself..I even had some items the very next day!...and everytime I have had it way before that date..if the seller did NOT use delivery confirmation (which I have never seen ANY of them do), then of course the postal system would have no record of the shipment or delivery ...even Amazon itself doesn't put delivery confirmation on pkgs (at least none of them I got did!)..if you haven't received it within the promised time frame..contact Amazon..I think that THEY will deal with the seller and refund your money..since you don't actually pay the seller..you pay Amazon who pays them!...I would have been a little more lenient in the feedback only cause it was so close to Christmas..and I don't think you really gave the seller any chance to make it up to you in some way before you left it!..but that's just the way I would deal with it!

Noticed this:

Removing Feedback You've Left

If you've left feedback on a Marketplace or Merchant seller and would like to remove it, you can do this through the Review Your Feedback page. Please note that feedback cannot be edited, only removed. Once you have removed feedback for a seller, you will not be able to post new feedback for that seller.

1. Go to www.amazon.com/your-account.
2. Under "Personalization," in the "Community" column, click "Seller Feedback Submitted By You."
3. A list of all of the feedback left by you will display. Click the "Remove" link next to the feedback you would like to remove. If there is no "Remove" option next to a comment, this means the 60-day removal period has expired.

I've asked my husband, who used to work in a related department, if the seller is even allowed to ask for you to do that...

The seller can ask that it be removed AFTER everything is resolved (refund made). They are NOT supposed to bribe you to remove that feedback, though. Which is what it sounds like they are doing.

As an FYI, it's generally best to wait until the transaction is completely finished before leaving feedback. This guy might have reshipped at own cost AND refunded or refused to refund and act like a jerk...but there's no way for you to leave feedback on the *entire* transaction now. Wait until it's done to leave feedback.

They did bribe me to rescind the feedback. They offered me money back/percentage off etc. I didn't feel the need to accept since I never received the item I wouldn't be paying for it anyway if it never arrived. It was no great favor there. Every single email was about getting me to remove my feedback. Then they gave me some bull story about it coming from the opposite coast so the shipping times don't apply.:confused3 I have never heard of such a thing. If it was simply a "We're sorry, we don't know what happened" then I could be forgiving of a mistake- but to keep making excuses is ridiculous. Today I received another email asking me to take back my feedback. I told them the other day that I would give them two more business days to see if the items arrive and then I would think about it. I will still make them refund me the shipping since I paid extra for it to arrive on time and it didn't.

Was 3-5 day shipping the standard shipping option? How much did you pay for shipping?

I have been selling used textbooks through amazon and when someone selects standard, they only give you enough money to ship via media mail. When i took my last textbook in the week before Christmas I was talked into doing priority or else it would take forever to get there due to the holidays. That cost me $10. Amazon only gives me $3.99. Maybe tell amazon to start crediting sellers more towards shipping.

It is not my job to worry about what deal sellers have with Amazon. If they want more money etc. then that is for them to bargain for. I am not running their business. I am simply a customer.

I paid $11 for shipping and they are not big or heavy items.

They should have sent it priority then, That's what I would have done.

I was just saying what I said because I got negative feedback on half.com once because they only pay you to ship the stuff via media mail and someone complained that the shipping was too slow. Well then don't pay for media mail. You paid for priority though, so they should have shipped it that way.

I would reply to them that you are not changing the feedback until this has been fully resolved (whether it's a complete refund, the items arrive, whatever). If it's resolved to your satisfaction, then you'll consider removing the negative feedback but should they continue to harass you about it, then you absolutely will NOT remove the feedback. Tell them that one more email asking for it to be changed will guarantee that it won't be.

I swear I will NOT order anything anymore through a SELLER through Amazon. Both me and my mother had problems with this this Christmas. My mom ordered a book for my grandfather and it took 4 weeks to receive. I ordered a DVD on November 8th (still did not receive it, never was shipped, going to cancel it and order it from Borders), and a Vet Set for DD. Well that too was ordered Nov. 8th and I received it 3-4 days before Christmas.

Don't get me wrong, I love ordering directly from Amazon, but just everyone beware, the only positive experience I have had was ordering used college books from there (from other sellers), but other than that, it has all been a disaster.

DBF ordered something for me from Amazon, the stuff coming directly from Amazon was delivered by the 23rd, the other stuff was not received until the 25th, and it doesn't work either. He's going to contact them today for a refund of his shipping (because they DID guarantee Xmas delivery) and tell them he wants another one shipped at their expense overnight. This stuff only happens when we order from a seller on Amazon, never from Amazon itself. Good luck OP!

I wouldn't change it. You paid extra to make sure you got it in time and the package should have had tracking). That would be then end of it for me. I do agree that I would have waited until everything was finished before I left it, but that's irrelevant now. I would expect them to refund my money. If/when the package shows up, return it. Now if you still want it anyway, that's a little different (I would still want my additional shipping refunded).

I still wouldn't change the feedback though (based mainly on the fact that they have no proof that they shipped it as directed).

This time of year priority is even slow! I mailed something on the same coast and it took 6 days for a small priority box. Then I got something in the mail priority from someone else and it only took 2. It's weird!

If there is no record and it's still not here then I think it's fair to be upset.
