WWYD about BLT?

Plus the in-room w/d might be nice after being on a cruise for the week. Would give you a chance to get some laundry done before heading home.

I would do the 2BR no doubt. The space, the kitchen and the w/d are big sellers for me. If I want time without the others in my party I can just go to my room and shut the door for awhile.

My 2 cents, definitely the 2 BR. Those studios at BLT are so tiny. DH and I stayed for one weekend and we were constantly tripping over each other to get around!

Seriously, they are very small for 2 people. I can't imagine trying to negotiate the room with 4!

We stayed at a 2 bedroom MK view last year. I would actually opt for the 2 BR Lake view in your case. First, some of the Lake View have almost as much of a MK view as the MK. Those that don't have a much more attractive view. Although the MK view lets you see the castle and Space Mt, what you see first (and is generally out of frame on the pictures) is the parking lot!

For fireworks, Top of the World is a great place to watch. We had to try MK view, ut having done so, Lake View would be my choice.

OP here- Thanks a bunch for your advice.

After talking with the family we decided that a 2BR would also give us the flexibility to eat in the room if we wanted to. Or we split some QS meals if we want. We probably would do Chef Mickeys because it will have been six years since that one, and walking is a bonus. Having just stuffed ourselves on the DREAM I can not fathom doing the dining plan after that.

Someone mentioned the laundry too - and I had not thought of that so that would definitely be a bonus to do a few loads before we go home.

We are SSR owners not BLT, so I was hopeful that both options would be available if I called at exactly 7 months. We have always been lucky so far.

We just stayed at AKV Kidani and would do that if BLT was not available. We made a SSR treehouse ressie at 11 months out just in case because we have stayed there before and know that space would work - though not our first choice.

Having said all that I would be happy for a stay anywhere - it is WDW.

I hope you get that 2BR Lake view! We just returned from 8 nights in a dedicated 2BR Standard view at BLT and absolutely loved it. There was tons of space - much more than 2 studios! As someone said, a 2BR is essentially a Studio and 1Br combined.

The laundry room was great and would be nice after a cruise. We fixed breakfast in the mornings and ate a couple of evening meals in the room while on our afternoon "break". That helped saved some $$. We had 7 of us in a 2BR and not once did we feel cramped or tight. If privacy is a concern, why not ask for a 2BR lockoff? That way, one family can enjoy the Studio and one family can enjoy a 1BR.

I think you are making a great choice. Plus, you can always go the TOTW lounge after 5:00 pm for some pictures of MK or go up later for the fireworks. Personally, we enjoy the fireworks more from Mainstreet, but if you have nothing else scheduled anyway, we found that watching the fireworks from the TOTW was quite relaxing.
