WWoHP West Grand Opening

Tried this in the theme parks and attractions board and got ridiculed, so I'm trying here (even though the titles make it seem to me like this board is for Universal Orlando).

I'm bringing my daughter (for her birthday) to Universal Studios Hollywood on April 7th for the grand opening of Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We've already been to WWoHP in Orlando (and will be bringing our interactive wands).

Two questions:
1) What time do you suggest getting to the park (I was thinking of prior to 5am)?
2) Will the interactive wand map (only) be available for purchase (or do you need to buy a wand in Hollywood as well to get it)?

I guess we are not nicknamed the Darkside for nothing.......lol


There are some people in this side of the boards that have gone to US Hollywood.
We don't have a separate forum for CA site as there has not been a demand for it.


I know keishashadow has been to US CA but not when potter was operating.

Hopefully someone will notice you need help and be able to tell you what they know about the potter opening.
(for time to be there and map purchase.)
It is coming up in 2 days.

Get there as early as you can. Have you seen photos of when it opened at Orlando? It was insane. If you can, I would avoid opening day.

I have no idea if the wand map is available for purchase separately.

You might also want to post in the Southern California forum. That's where most discuss Hollywood. I was there twice, but not when Potter was there. Agree, almost all the annual passes for the park have black outs starting tomorrow. Very early is the understatement, and be ready to feel like a sardine. We enjoyed the park even though no Potter. It is hilly, with very long escalators going up and down the hill.
