We are travelling from Australia to WDW and Universal for our first visit and a real highlight for my children is going to be WWoHP.

I figure WWoHP has been open long enough now for some people to have been a few times already and wondered if there were any cool things to look out for to enhance our time there. My DD12 esp loves looking for cute little things in the details so I would really welcome everyone's tips and tricks to make our time there memorable.

What things to look out for?
Quickest ways to get from A to B?
Cute details that we may miss if we were not aware?

We only have one day allocated for WWoHP and IOA which I realise is probably not enough but WWoHP will be our main focus.

We aren't sure whether we will be game enough to ride FJ yet but we sure will be doing the line up so we can check our Hogwarts.

Thanks so much for any help in advance.

Listen for Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom.

If you are staying onsite, take advantage of the early park hours-
also check it out at night- the castle when it is lit up is just amazing
frozen butterbeer!
do 3 broomsticks for lunch- hardly any wait times, so more time in the park
can buy your candy at the airport so you don't have to worry about it melting

have fun!

I love Australia! DH and I went there on our honeymoon! We hope to return soon. :goodvibes

At the 3 Broomsticks, look at the walls. You should be able to catch shadows of house elves. Check out the hog's head on the wall (at Hog's Head), I think its supposed to snort or growl at whoever passes by. Some people say it didn't do anything and some have said it was non stop.

These are great tips. Thanks everybody. These little things are exactly what I was looking for.

If anyone wants to jump in with some other things that would be great.

Oh and MDB78, Australia is gorgeous isn't it. Hopefully you will get back here one day.

Australia is beautiful! The first half of our honeymoon we stayed in the rainforest (Silky Oaks Lodge). It was beautiful. Each day we woke up so refreshed! For the 2nd half we went to Brisbane. That's were I experienced driving on the left hand side. I never freaked out so much! Lol.. Everybody was just so friendly too!

Visit all the corridors in Hogsmeade, most people just stay in the front part of street and don´t go through the little in between corridors that can have more windows with decorations.

Take your time! HP is full of details and sometimes you go so fast you miss them, I kept seeing new things everytime I went (4 times) during my visit.

When in the shops look up, sometimes you´ll see great decors.

Take your time in FJ queue it´s amazing, people just rush through it in order to get fast to the ride. I did the queue one time for pics only and was amazed to see people just walk fast passing all those great decors and details.

Visit HP at night one day it´s just amazing.

I´ll keep thinking of more stuff once I see my pics.

A TM told us that something in EVERY window moves. It may not move constantly, but something does move.

ie: the tape measure kitty in the window w/ Hermoine's dress moves

These are all great tips - thanks! We'll be in US/IOA four different days, so we'll be able to take our time and soak it all in!
