i've seen a lot of posts on this board that you can get early admission to harry potter world if you stay OFF site at a preferred hotel, but for the life of me, i cannot figure out how to book that. on the universal site, it seems like the only want to get early admission is to stay ON SITE. can anyone help me out?

and, i'd love to hear if anyone even thinks we'll need that early admission. it's going to cost me about $200! we are staying at bonnet creek for $75/night vs. on site for $225 plus tax. we will be there may 16-may 23 (doing disney for all those days except one day for harry potter). think it will be that crowded at wwohp during the week mid may?

would love any help!

The only way besides staying onsite to get early entry is to book the Harry Potter Vacation Package through Universal and an offsite Partner hotel.

If you already have a place at Bonnett Creek then I wouldn't book the Potter package just get to the extra hour as it would cost you a lot more money. Your best bet is just to get to Universal between 8-8:30 AM and get in line for regular admission(9AM). This should get you into Potter with the first group of day guests. Onsite/Potter Package guests will already in the area but it is still managable. I did this in early July and by being one of the first in line for regular admission it was still easy to get FJ and Ollivander's out of the way before it was a madhouse and then hit the stores.

I agree with this, except for maybe Ollivander's not yet being a madhouse. There's a good chance it will by 9. While sorta charming and cute, I would not wait more than say, 45 minutes for it. That may already be the wait time by the time you get there. Again, I completely agree with everything else!

When I go in May (school field trip time) I always try to go as early in the week as possible since most school trips seem to be scheduled for the end of the school week. I've had good luck with this, and with this being HPs very first school trip season it might be something to think about.
