Congratulations Iggbees! Another slow loser here with you. It will balance out.

Kathiniowa, congrats as well! 1.8 is great! I can sympathize with what you said about eating in front of other people and them watching. It is so true. I tend to eat most of my bad stuff at home away from outside people. Why though? I'm the one on the plan and if I feel like I can have it then it's my decision. But i still do it. Oh well!

Good luck everyone!

kathinowa- congratulations!! 1.8 is awesome for one week!! :thumbsup2 I always do better if I write everything down too. And actually today I ate too much at work, and came home with only 2 points left, and now I'm negative 9,(since I'm out of flex points). I almost didn't write it down but came here and read your post. No matter what, if I write it down, I definitely eat less than when I don't. Hope this week is going better for you.

iggbees- Congrats on your loss!!! 2.9 is great for one month. Slow and steady is the way to go and keep it off. :thumbsup2 Great job on the gym too.

drgnfly 30- Whoo hoo!!! 2 pounds is great!!!!

Kjo719- hang in there. Half a pound is half a pound gone! All those little losses definitely will add up.

Tiggerlover- thanks for the kind words. My weekend went really well. I walked both days with my SIL, and actually stayed within my daily points. It's great to spend time with others who are trying to stay healthy too. That's why it's so nice to come here.

Miss missy- congrats to you on all the exercise. I can't imagine not eating enough, but the old body definitely will stop burning fat if you don't feed it. I don't know how you didn't even eat your daily points. I usually use all my daily and flex points, and activity points. Good luck this week.

Hey fofinia- Great job on the cardio. Hope you'll see a loss this week. The spinach dip was pretty good. I'd definitely make it again. The whole thing was actually 7 points, but it made a good size bowl, and it felt good to munch on a yummy hot appetizer without guilt.

I've been on track all week til today, so I'm recommitting right now. I wi on friday, and the day before I usually have an easy time staying on track, so tonight is my challenge this week, and I've been craving junk. That darn TOM. I think I'll have microwave popcorn later, and hot cocoa if I need chocolate. But that's it for today!!!

Good luck everyone!

Hope it's ok for me to join in? :)

I started WW on March 12th (a little over 3 weeks ago) and have lost exactly 10 pounds so far. The first week I lost 4 pounds, 2nd week I lost 4.4 and my last weigh-in on Monday I was down another 1.6 pounds.

I'm working out 6 days week, usually 60 minutes a day, but today I was able to also do a low intensity cardio workout, which put my total of exercise minutes up to 110 for the day.

Welcome Luckywife! And can I just say Wow! Your exercise routine is impressive! :thumbsup2 How long have you been working out this much? Were you having any weight loss success before joining WW? Sorry if I'm being nosy, but I've been trying to increase my exercise and kickstart my weight loss to be losing a little quicker!

Mikamah, I'm so glad you had a nice weekend. It totally makes a difference hanging out with people who are health conscience. I have a much easier time hanging out with my sister when she is dieting also. If she's not I'm so tempted all the time to eat extra stuff. Be Strong tonight! You can do it!

I weighed in today and am down .6 of the 1lb I gained last week. So hopefully next week I'll be down the rest of the .4 and maybe a little more.

I spoke with the receptionist again about what to do. Since it seems I lose weight the weeks I don't exercise and I gain or only lose a little bit when I do exercise a lot. So for this week I'm going to only eat half my activity points. The reason I'm thinking to eat less of them is a success story I read on WW.com. And this woman lost 40lbs in 6 months and she said she started exercising. And she never ate her activity points but used them as a boost to her weight loss. I don't know. But I thought for one week I should try it. The receptionist also said maybe eating activity points one day and then not eating them the next would trick my body. Make it think, Uh-oh I'm starving, Oh ok, I'm not. Sorry I'm rambling!

Hope everyone's day is good and good luck this week!

I joined WW online last week and lost 5lbs on my first weigh in. Would love to lose 25 more by the time we go back to Disney in August! I also started walking a few weeks ago and try to do 45-50 minutes at least 4 times a week. I already feel better! I keep teasing DH, DD, and DS that they won't be able to keep up with me in the parks if they don't join in now.

Thanks for the welcome, fofinia.

I started working out (treadmill mostly) the day after I joined WW, so almost a month ago. When I first started walking I could barely do 25 minutes and the first week I had to break that up into 5 minutes here and 5 minutes there. The following week I increased my time to 30 minutes on the treadmill and have just started building from there. The 60 minutes I do a day now is all at the same time (finally!) ;)

I lost about 30 pounds 14 years ago, that was before I had children, and have really packed the weight on since. This is the heaviest I've ever been and the breaking point for me came about a month ago when I ordered a new shirt online and when it arrived it didn't fit. I told my DH that I guess I needed to buy a bigger size next time. After I thought about that statement for a while I told myself "No! No more bigger sizes-the weight has to come off!" I could spend the rest of my life buying bigger sizes to fit into while I keep gaining weight but that is not how I want to live any longer.

WW has been great so far, I wish I would have joined a little sooner when I didn't have quite so much to lose. I've lurked on the WISH boards for a long time, reading journals and this thread, so this was one of the biggest things that kicked my butt into gear. I saw how everyone else was doing it and how happy they were with their success and I wanted that feeling for myself.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you about this journey

Welcome Simp88! What a great first week! And you are right about your family not being able to keep up with you. The only reason my DH can keep up with me is, he is 13 inches taller than me so his stride is wayyyyy longer! Keep up the great work!

Luckywife, I like your attitude! No more bigger sizes. I wish I had thought that way when I started gaining weight. But no, let's just get a 14, ok a 16, oh an 18! Yuck! That was all prebabies. If only....

I built up my exercise like you did too. Small increments. I'm only up to 45 mins. I've really been thinking I need to increase to an hour. I think that will be my new goal. I bought a pedometer, again, yesterday. I'm up to 9,911 so far today! So I'm going to hit 10,000 today. That's pretty exciting.

Hope all is well with the group!

Good luck!

:welcome: Luckywife and Simp88, and congratulations on your awesome losses so far!!! Sounds like you're both off to a great start.

fofinia- :cool1: nice work on the loss. Maybe your muscles retain a little more water the weeks you are exercising more, and that you don't see the loss til the next week. Sounds like a good plan to eat half the activity points and see how that works. How do you like your pedometer? 10,000 steps is impressive. Can you figure out how many miles you walk with it? We got one in a cereal box, but it didn't seem too accurate. I've thought of buying one, but never got around to it.

Have a great night.

iggbees, KATHINOWA and fofinia congrats on your losses, keep up the great work.

Mik, so glad you had a great (healthy) weekend visit. It is so great when you are surround by others who are working on living healthy.

:welcome: luckywife and congrats on losing your first 10 pounds, that is terrific!

fofinia, I have to say that I never eat activity points either, so maybe that will be the little boost that you need. Good luck with that change, hopefully that will be just what your body needs.

As for me, I had a pretty good start to the week and was pretty confident I was going to squeak by and make it to goal. Then I got a horrible, no-good gastrointestinal virus and at weigh in I was down 2.6 pounds. Although I did make it to goal and then some I wish I had done it without being sick. Now Saturday we are off to WDW, if I can stay right at goal then I will be happy and celebrate then, (so I have two pounds to play with). It will be hard on vacation, but hopefully I can perservere!

Have a great week everyone!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)

10,000 steps is VERY impressive fofinia---WTG :) I bought a pedometor last weekend and have only used it one time. It didn't seem very accurate with the amount of calories burned but it could be I just expected it to be more than it was.

Can someone explain to me how to figure AP's earned? Is there any other way to do it besides using the slider thingy they give you at WW?

Well, just got back from WI. Only lost .4 pounds again this week, but I was happy with that because my TOM started yesterday. So, any loss at that time is a good one!!! My WW leader said that since I only have like 8 pounds to reach my 10% goal, it will not come off so fast as someone that has much more to lose. But, I will stay positive and keep saying that "slow and steady wins the race". :cool1:

Good for you Harvest02 a loss is a loss....I made a major accomplishment today myself for most it wouldn't be a big deal but it is for me. I lost my first 10 pounds I am now down 11.2 I lost 2.2 this week... I am so EXCITED. I even went out and bought me a lottery scratch off and found that I had won 25.00 but I did not see the bonus which is that it doubles the amount I won which was 50.00 I guess that is a better way to award myself instead of with food I will buy myself a lottery ticket:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I had a great weigh in today- I lost 3 pounds. I was not expecting that at all- both DD and I were sick this week, so I didn't keep track of anything and we missed all of our baby boot camp classes, so I was very surprised (and happy) with a 3 pound loss!

Tiggerlover-party: GOALparty:Congratulations!!!!!! Sorry you were sick, but 2.6 is awesome!!! And now you can celebrate in WDW!! Have an awesome time, drink lots of water, and hopefully all that walking will keep you at goal!!!!!

luckywife- I don't know how to figure out the aps without the slider since it goes by weight. I know for my weight of 191 about 15 minutes of mod exercise equals one point, but if you weigh less, it takes you longer to earn a point.

Harvest02- Congrats and great attitude. Slow and steady will definitely win!!

Daisy2- Congratulations on your first 10 pounds That is awesome!!! What a great idea for a reward with a lottery ticket. When I hit 45 pounds lost, I'm planning on buying myself a new pair of cowboy boots. Thought it would speed up my loss to have a reward in sight, but I'm still going slow.

Kjo719- Congratulations on your great loss!! It's so motivating to lose when you're not expecting it.

As for me, I gained .6 this week, and even though I had one rough day, I was surprised I hadn't lost, or at least maintained. But thinking back, even thought I stayed within my points, I didn't make the healthiest choice on several days, and I had bought those 100 cal pack hostess cupcakes, and ate too many of them, so I can see how I gained a little. My goal for this week, is to get through Easter and stay on program. I'm making a ww trifle, and sweet potato casserole, so I should be able to stay on track. And I should be able to walk 4 days this week.

Have a happy healthy Easter everyone!!!

Tiggerlover-party: GOALparty:Congratulations!!!!!! Sorry you were sick, but 2.6 is awesome!!! And now you can celebrate in WDW!! Have an awesome time, drink lots of water, and hopefully all that walking will keep you at goal!!!!!

Thanks, Mik, I really appreciate your continued support and encouragement!! I am sorry you had a slight gain this week, but it sounds like you figured out where it came from and have a plan for this week.

What is a WW trifle, sounds kind of intriging?

I have my snack bag and cooler packed for tomorrow, lots of healthy treats....at least while they are still fresh. I cut up veggies, have a bunch of 2-pt snacks, some mandarin oranges and some sugar free tapioca. The hard part will be the temptations in the parks, but at least out of the 8 days, 2 will be travelling and 4 will be at WDW, so I am hoping to at least break even. I am not taking the Goal clippie until I am back and I know I can claim it for real.

Happy Easter everyone!

:cheer2: Thank you Mikamah for the cheers:cheer2: and good luck to your on getting your new boots

Wow! Congrats tiggerlover!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Sorry you were sick tho :( I will miss your inspiration around here!! Have a great vacation and enjoy being at your ideal weight too! What a balst that would be to feel comfy in your clothes! YAY!

I go in May and can't wait! I will check in for tmo's WI.

Well I gained 2lbs!! It is TOM and I am not eating my exercise points :( I did eat more this week, some of the 35, but man is it a lot to eat. Fat to muscle too, all these things are messing me up from knowing what my body wants. So frustrating!

Well I am sticking in for the long haul. Can't get me down!

That's the awesome attitude that will get you to your goal. The ups and downs can be so frustrating, but the thing is to not give up. I am all over the place, up a little, down a little, no change, resulting in an overall very slow loss. But I know how quickly I would gain it all back if I gave up. It might be helpful if you do eat more. I seem to do best when I eat most of my flex points, and thinking back to when I wouldn't use them, i definitely lost more weight the more flex points I ate. Lately, my problem is staying below the 35.;) You should lose some fluid this when whe TOM goes on his way, and hopefully see a good loss. Good luck.

Hope everyone here has a happy health Easter. I'm starting off a little rough, frosting a cake, licking the spoon, and jelly beans, but I'm here now to recommit. The key for me is journalling, so from here on out today, I'm writing everything down.

Have a great day.:flower:

WOOO-HOOOO! :cool1: Tiggerlover!Congratulations on hitting goal! I'm sorry I wasn't around before yesterday to congratulate you before you went away. I hope you had a great week at Disney!! :wizard: And I probably would've held off on the clippie myself too. Make sure it is real!!

Congrats, Daisy, Harvest and Kjo... Keep up the great work! And Daisy congrats on the first 10! It's a big deal and you should celebrate it. I celebrate every 5lb mark. Each one keeps me happy for at least 2 weeks!

Mikamah, and Miss Missy, I'm sorry you had a gain. It can be such a bummer. Sometimes for me there is no rhyme or reason for it. And I just have to look hard at the fact that overall I am down. And if I wasn't still doing WW I think I would be up.

Luckywife, as far as the AP points have you been on WW online? I do the monthly pass and it gives me the online membership for free. I tried figuring it out once based on the amount of calories you burn. But it didn't quite line up.

Mik, the pedometer I bought can either count steps or distance. It was $5 at Target. And I just heard on tv today that the average 10,000 steps equals 3 1/2 miles. But you are supposed to put in your step distance to really figure it out. Mine is off somewhat because I went for a 3 mile walk one day and after it hadn't registered the full distance. Sometimes when you have a belly roll the pedometer isn't perfectly accurate. But i figure even if it isnt' I enjoy watching it go up!
