WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Good Morning and Happy New Year to all.

I've been very bad for about two weeks or so but today I'm jumping back in and actually I'm ready to do this again. I'm still going to WW but I must confess that I skipped the last two meeting. I'm going back on Wednesday to take my lumps and start the scale moving on the downward track again.

I have a lot of backtracking and reading to do. While I was taking my Christmas vacation from WW I tend to not check in here either. I hope you all had a very Merry Chistmas and Happy New Year. I hope and pray that 2009 is the year that we all meet our weight loss goals.

Hi everybody --

Just (re)introducing myself. I believe this is my 4th time on WW and 3rd time to the WW wish thread. First time around I lost some weight then got pregnant. Second time, I lost some weight and then fell off the wagon. Third time, I lost some weight and then got pregnant again. I guess the moral of the story is that the program works, but I don't always stick to it. At least I gained a couple of cute boys in addition to the extra 25 pounds. :rotfl:

So, since I have no plans to have any more kids, the only thing that can get in the way this time is me. :rolleyes1 I haven't started meetings yet, but am tracking points and e-mailing with a couple of other ww friends. The whole process is a little scary because I seemed to add an extra 10-15 pounds every time I fell off the wagon -- so I'm starting from a lot higher up than that first time around.:scared1:

That said . . . happy new year to all and away we go . . .

Hi Everyone,
I haven't checked in for a while. Last week was my 16th week. I have lost 22 pounds so far although I skipped the weigh in last week and I'm afraid of what tomorrow's weigh in will bring. I reached my 10% goal about 4 weeks ago and just realized that I haven't set a final goal. I am setting it at the top of the range so that I can achieve lifetime status asap and start saving money as I hopefully loose a few more pounds. Congrats to everyone who has done well over the holidays and good luck to us all as we continue getting healthy.

Well here I am, 2009... I lost 22 lbs, and gained 10 back. :sad2: Work is doing another Biggest Loser competition, and I'm going to compete again. Last time, I lost 22 lbs... and came in SECOND place behind "Paul from Finance"... GRR! :headache: I worked so so so so hard and wanted to win so so so bad... but it was .9% body weight lost behind him. .9%!!!! AAAAGH. So, I'm back to WW, and at it again. Definitely need the help and support of my disers on this one!! Our weigh in at work is on Monday, but I'm going to start TODAY. No day like today, huh? Today, the ticker resets... the eating gets controlled... the workouts begin... here we go....

How long have you been doing ww? I have no doubt you will make lifetime this year. You have been such a steady and consistent loser.

I started on May 19th. I admit the holiday's have been a challange. Too many different foods and too many times food choices have not been in my control. Hopefully I have made some good portion control choices. I am really starting to look forwad to getting back to my normal food and daily routine.

Weigh in day today...I gained .4 which I'm ok with considering it's the holidays. I go back to work on Monday after two weeks off (I'm a teacher). That should make it easier to stay on track. A few of my coworkers do w.w. with me so they provide great support. Forgot to being my weigh in book with me today so I couldn't set a goal but will definitely bring it next week. I would appreciate any advice you have on setting a realistic goal. Thanks, have a great weekend!

Mary Anne - Thank you! I've been trying to figure everything out goalwise and haven't decided what to do yet. I'm young (25 tomorrow) and have no kids yet. I also have a small frame. My husband (a family practice resident) said I should probably be on the lower end of what WW suggests, although he would never tell me what weight to choose. I was going to talk to my WW leader at the meeting yesterday, but it was so crazy busy with all the people starting or recommitting to the program, that I figured next week would be just as good.

mikamah - Isn't it crazy how much of a difference .2 can make?? I think I'm almost more motivated the weeks where I am within a couple tenths of a milestone because I want to make sure I get it. oh well, whatever works!

heatherfeather24 - welcome back!

susieb16 - congrats on your loss so far! And I'm glad your WI didn't turn out too bad. Small gains can be victories considering the amount of food and stress the holidays can bring.

toledo13 - there's no day better than today and good luck on your Biggest Loser challenge!

I had my WI yesterday and was down 2.4 lbs which brings my total to 36lbs down :cool1: My next goal is 7.8 lbs away which would put me in the healthy bmi range. :thumbsup2

ok... I'm intentionally making this a separate post, but we had a pretty interesting discussion at our meeting yesterday and I wanted to share. We talked about things that we were proud of from the last year. It was nice because there were so many people who were recommitting to the program and I think there's a general frustration after the holidays... especially if you weren't as good as you intended. And some people mentioned things that applied to me as well, so I left the meeting feeling recommitted and happy about how far I've come.

Mine is actually Disney related, but I'd love to hear what you all are proud of too (disney related or not). Exactly 4 years ago I went to WDW with my husband, then fiance, and his family (date is easy to remember because I turned 21 there). I took a pair of capris with me that I had purchased the previous summer. I didn't think to try them on before going and discovered at the trip that they didn't fit (as in, wouldn't even zip up all the way). I tried those capris on a couple weeks ago and they are almost too big. :yay: My goal is by the time it's warm enough in Kansas City to wear Capris, they will be way to big to wear.

Anyone else want to share? I have a couple more I can think of, but I'd love to hear some of yours as well.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Hi Everyone - Happy New Year!

Today I rejoined WW. I did it about 2 1/2 years ago. Since then I gained all of the weight I lost plus an additional 10 lbs!!! Holidays and recent Disney cruise are to blame for almost all of the 10 lbs. So now I am committed to losing the weight and eating healthier again. I only need to lose 20-25 lbs to be at my final goal, but I know it won't be easy. So I am hoping to lean on you guys every once in awhile when I feel like I am slipping. I haven't read through this thread yet, but will try to read most of it. Looking forward to losing with you all!!!

I am so proud of you!

I have been reading but have been a little embarrassed becasue I was so completely off program. I am so proud of all of you , you stuck with it way more than I did and that is wonderful. We have new posters as well, that is awesome!

I went to my meeting today and my WI was better than expected. I gained 5.4 pounds in six weeks, I had expected way more...Disney was a food fest and it continued throughout the Holidays. My jeans were tight and I was thankful I had tossed out the "big" ones.

I am going to continue to follow CORE, I will think about Momentum but I hate tracking so I think I will get OP with the one I am comfortable with.

Ok, so I started back today, and had gained an eye-opening 6 pounds since my last weigh-in in mid-December. I knew I had gained; I just didn't realize how much.

So I am off to plan my food for tomorrow. Good luck to everyone as we rededicate ourselves.

I weighed on saturday, after not being totally committed for my first week back, and lost .6. I'm doing better this week, and am in my points range so far, and planning to stay there.

We had the same topic at our meeting, and I am proud that I went back to ww in sept, after a year of doing on my own, and I had gained back only 17 pounds of the 37 I had lost. In the past, I totally give up, gain all the weight back, plus more, so I am proud that I kept 20 pounds off, and I will not gain that again.
Congrat on your capris being big. That is a great feeling. We are going on our 3rd trip to wdw in a week, and I funny, I can relate to the capris. I will be wearing the same ones' from our first trip, but in april 08 I was at my all time low, and wore a pair of capris size 14, and felt great. I will be in the 16s this trip, but by summer, I'm going to be back in the 14s.

 Welcome back. Glad you had a good trip. Its' a new year, and we all will get back to program, and lose this weight now.

I gained 6 pounds in a week when I vacationed with my sister, it was horrible that WI so I know how you feel. I am glad that you are back and that you are committed, as others have said, it's a new year, a new YOU!

It sounds like we are all looking at an attainable goal and ready to get there!

Hi everyone.

Some of the recent post sound like my story. My WI days are friday (I do meetings) which as you know was the day after christmas and New Years. The day after christmas I was up 5 lbs. :sad2: But the day after NY's I was down 1.2lbs. :woohoo:
But I am now back on program and moving forward and down.

Ok, I've been gone for about a month off the board so let me start by saying :cheer2: welcome:cheer2: to the newcomers!! Wow, I'm glad the holidays are over so maybe I will get back to tracking my food. Luckily I didn't gain but .6 over Disney Christmas and I have that back off now; however, I'm still not making wise food choices and I feel bloated and sluggish.......off to a new start in the morning! Hope everyone has a great week:yay:

Nancyg56 - thank you!!! I'm proud of you for tossing those "big" jeans! go us! :cheer2:

NCRedding - good luck rededicating yourself! :cheer2:

mikamah - thanks for playing along! congrats on keeping those 20 lbs off and coming back in Sept! I have no doubt you can make it back to those 14's. Shopping from your closet has got to be the best kind of shopping...

tink1963 - congrats for getting back on program and for the awesome loss the day after New Years!

Pei4ever - I'm impressed with only a .6 lb gain at Disney... hope you got the new start you wanted today!

I hope everyone has been having a good week so far. I have not been doing a good job with tracking... I think I'm making relatively good food choices, but I know I need to starting writing everything down again. So I will start that again tomorrow and finish out the week with a bang!

Happy Hump Day everyone! :dance3:

Hi Yall,
So this is my first time posting here on this thread and I still consider myself a newbie to WW. Been going to meetings since August 08 so about 5 months now. Making that decision to start WW was probably the smartest choice I have ever made. I hadn't weighed myself in years bc I was afraid of the numbers, but after seeing pictures of myself from my Disney trip back in March I knew I had to make changes. Stepping on that scale had to be one of the hardest things in my life and I broke down when I saw the number. So far I have lost 35.2 and still counting! Its definently a journey and the results are really starting to show. It's nice having dis people to chat with about these struggles and acomplishments. Glad I found this thread:)

Good for you! So many times I have fallen after having gone off track. It was easier to just stay in the same pattern. You did well through the Holidays and are beginning the new year on a healthy path.

It is the tracking that I have a hard time with. I have no idea why I resent writing down the choices I make :confused3

Welcome! You have done a wonderful job and should be so proud of yourself! Please stay and share your journey with us.

Welcome to all our new posters!

I weighed in today since the 18th of December. I was down 3.2 lbs over the Christmas / New Year weeks.

I'm beginning to feel like the end is actually in sight for getting to goal. Then the hard part starts with maintaining the loss.
