I do. I don't like canned soup so I make mine with whatever I have in the house. I don't follow recipes for most soups but if you like I'll walk you through how I make mine and how I vary them depending on what we are in the mood for and what I have on hand. The soup I made this week is a tomato based soup and has all kinds of core veggies, some ham, which I took a point for and quinoa. If I did not add any meat I would have added white beans or kidney beans. I am following CORE so I try to use mostly CORE ingredients.

I am restarting WW! I did WW several years ago and lost 35 pounds:banana: , however after 3 cruises and two extended visits with my MIL, I have gained it all back :sad2: !

Today is day 3 and I have been honest and upbeat. But, know from experience that I will need support. I would like to lose 30 lbs. for our WDW vacation in April 2009. My overall goal is to lose 70 lbs.

If there is room for new comers, is there a set day for weigh in or do we do we go by our day that we have with WW?

Thank....Lee

Travel with kids WELCOME  :goodvibes :cool1:

There is no set day for weigh in. Everyone pretty much goes by the day they weigh in at WW. My day is Thursday.

I have been hungry all day. I've stayed within my points but felt like I've eaten all day, a point at a time :rotfl: I probably should have eaten more at meals but it was one of those days that I just felt like picking.

Hey there, everybody! :wave2:

I had a very busy weekend and this is the first chance I have had to post concerning my Sat. AM weigh in. The sad thing is that none of the stuff I did this weekend is exciting enough to report. :( Just the "that's life" sort of stuff like mowing the lawn, grocery shopping, etc. :laundy: Anyway . . .

I weighed in a tiny gain. It was only .4 lbs, and as I posted earlier, I strongly feel that fluid retention is the culprit. I am really very happy that I gained less than half a pound. This always happens once a month for me, but normally, I just stay the same or lose .2, or .4. SO . . . Based on history, I should have a decent loss next week. :thumbsup2

Welcome, travel with kids!!! :hippie:

I hope everyone has a great week this week!:goodvibes

What kind of bread do you use? I've found one that is packed with whole grains (high fiber) and nutrients, and it tastes wonderful by the way, but each slice is 2 points! Is there a good bread that is full of the good-for-you stuff AND low in points?

Thanks! :thanks:

Well, Today is my first official weigh in! I started WW last monday and am happy to say that today I am down 3lbs!!!!! I'm so excited, I did a little victory dance around my house!

In regards to the bread question... I eat Sara Lee soft and Smooth 100% Whole wheat. I did the calculations and each slice is one point. Hope this helps!

Good for you! 3 pounds is a wonderful way to get started :thumbsup2

Monday is my WI day too. I lost 1.8 pounds and finally made my 20 pounds! I am ecstatic.

Way to go on losses!

I wasn't able to make my meeting last week and it looks like this week is out too:scared1:
But Hopefully that means when I do get to a meeting I will have a loss;)

Nancy, 20 lbs!!!!! Great job!!
I am on Flex so I am not sure if your soup recipes on Core work for the points.:confused3

You would need to use the recipe builder. When I made soup on Flex for my DD and DDIL I used as many free or low point ingredients, added low energy foods like white beans and barley and used FF chicken stock to build layer my soup with flavor but kept it very low in points. They all resembled the WW 1PT soup but if I added a protein or beans we just added them into the serving and counted the points. It can be done, you just need to think about it first.

I like making my own soups and stocks because I know what I am eating and can use whole grains instead of white pasta in the soups. I also control the sodium and that has made a difference for us as well. My DGD is allergic to egg so she is not able to have most canned soups. She can have pasta and we all eat WW now so she can have some too.

I am more comfortable on CORE because I am able to cook a little more freely and still make healthy choices and loose weight. While I was able to incorporate Flex points into my meals, especially my soups, I did not enjoy it. I agree that cooking "big pot" meals on Flex takes more planning and thought to maintain accurate point count.

OK, you folks have really gotten me into the groove, I joined WW again today. I have not gone on line with it yet. I need to be taught all over what I am doing!

Tonight I ate veal florentine. I felt so guilty I did not eat the salad that was smothered in tomato gorganzola, or the ziti or the soup. The soup I will save for tomorrow. I ate 4 veal medallions so there would not be any left for tomorrow. I am now feeling very full. I have 69.4 lbs to lose. I am going try and use the weight tracker. I bought all of my snacks there and am going to start my day with the smoothie I love so much!

Looking forward to learning from all of you and getting my body back!

Thanks for the inspiration!

Joanne

I am down 3.5 this week. It wasn't easy either. Had waffles at Denny's one night for dinner. And then the other day I ate a ton of spinich artichoke dip. Somehow though, I was able to lose. Good thing I kept on track all the other days.

Great loss Stacerita!!

Welcome Jovo! We have about the same amount to lose.

Anyone know which Progresso soups are 0 points? I looked at the commisary but had no luck? I know to eat the whole can is 2pts but also 2 veggies;)

It is so nice to have a group of people to check in with. The support makes all of the difference. Good luck with your first WI!

I don't know how it works but somehow if you stay on track for the most part your body lets you have a little treat. I was afraid for my WI becasue of my Lava Cake thing but it was okay.

:cheer2: on the 3.5 lbs!

Welcome Jo! I'm so glad to see you here!

Today was my weigh in day. I'm down 1.2 lbs this week for a total of 34.8 I firmly belive it is a combination of the WW meetings, the online and this group and the WISH Board. So much encouragement.

I'm going to be busy as anything the next month at work so I need to get all my food in order. Worst thing would be not to have program food on hand in both my house and office. Too easy to grab just anything!

weighed in today...

Down .4 for a total of 70.4

Officially need to lose 19 more pounds to hit my goal...

Maybe by my WW anniversary date (January)???

We shall see!

Good luck to everyone!

Wow! I feel so motivated!

My name is Misty Lynn (yes, one of those super-Southern two name first names) and am a Lifetime Member of WW since 2001. I had a DD three years ago and my weight has be up and down 20lbs since...I'm tired of riding the yo-yo and am back on the WW program full-time. In some ways I feel like an old pro at WW and in other ways it's totally different being a Mommy and trying to stay on program.

I look forward to encouraging y'all and being encouraged.:cheer2:

Welcome Misty!!

I had weigh in last night and I am up 1.8:guilty: Kind of expected though, Surprisingly though I was more motivated when I left so I am glad I went!

I found a recipe on WW etools for 0 point cabbage soup. It mkes 18 servings. I am going to make it this weekend and split it into individual servings and freeze them.
I also bought some of the WW creamy chocolate smoothies to help with my milk intake:)

Hello I am back....AGAIN..... I started back a couple of weeks ago after a long absence I was in Oregon for awhile visiting and well you know when your in your in your home town you tend to go visit thoughs favorite eating places and of course I DID!!! I gained all my weight back. I came back have been going to WW for about a month now. First week I weighed in I was up 10 pounds than my original start weight YIKES:scared1: Okay so I come back the follwing week only lost .8 next week up .2 over the weeked had melt down I went to meeting but did not weigh in I was to down on myself so with a little help from my close friends who go to WW and a lot of encouragment from my DH I started eating oatmeal in the morning salads at each meal lunch and dinner and I weighed in on Thursday 8/28 and I lost 7.4 pounds.  Needless to say I was doing the happy dance. It also helps I work with small children so I am taking care of them and meeting their needs 6 hours a day so I don't really think about food during that time. I also drank all my water too that really helped.

Congrats to you all for making better choices in your food.
