OK WW friends----I need you!!!!

I jumped on the scale this morning after my workout and saw 145! that makes me 10 lbs from goal! eek!! when did that happen!!!????!!!!! I joined the july 4th challenge with 3 lbs to lose, and now i have 10!

Isn't there some kind of rapid loss program? Like eating your minimum points for two weeks or something like that?? That is what I want to do starting tomorrow -- someone give us the details and join forces with me???????

I just came to the boards to put in writing that I must get SERIOUS tomorrow! I was actually surprised this AM that I wasn't up more than my 3 from vacation week - trust me I have been eating like I never knew what WW point was!

Okay DD (ohmom) let's go for it this week - I say aim for lower end of points but also concentrate on good carbs and minimum sugar, too.

We can do it and you still have some time to work toward that 4th of July challenge.

When you are feeling like you need a "snack" remember what Dr. P says - wait 10 minutes and see if it passes - I am using that theory this week too. Also, I am going for no eating after 7:00 pm.

Whew - that is enough, too many restrictions and I will just be overwhelmed - and last but not least -this is a lifestyle not a race and we have made lots of progress - just to come here and say "let's do it together" is going in the right direction!

Onward and downward ::yes::

I hear ya about the nasty scales. ::yes::

Well, I don't know about any WW rapid loss plan (anyone else with details?), but what you guys have here sounds good to me.

When the scale said I was wandering upward towards the end of last week too, I chug-chug-chugged the water all weekend. Lo and behold, I've still officially maintained from last week's weigh-in. So I propose adding in extra water too.

So we have:
low end of points range
good carbs
minimum sugar
no eating before bed
resisting the snackies
water, water, water

That's a lot of challenges, but I think we can do it together. Go us! :teeth:

ok that sounds like a good sum up there beams! basically we are looking at this WW week like a new member -- to a "T" -- focused all the way

just keep swimming, just keep swimming...................one day at a time

tonight I have the first of 6 weekly meetings in preparation for a weekend-long womens retreat in July that I'm on "team" for. let me just say this is an awesome experience -- but much much food is present at the meetings and the weekend. Tonight I should be ok though as it's only day one and I'm focused!!!

ohmom...
way to go on that focus!!!!!! but do remember, you may be building more muscle the more you are running. make sure you eat enough to fuel your runs!!!!

GOOD LUCK to you all....you can do it!!!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

made it through day one -- I baked three different types of cookies for my mtg! I did have a tiny sample bite of one b/c it was a new recipe and I truly had some concern after seeing them after they baked! it wasn't even enough to really tell. I tried a pan of sugar-free brownies (one diabetic in group) and they were horrid! i didn't take them!

i'm not sure if I did drink all my water yesterday -- i will pay more attention today!

I have a volunteer luncheon at school today - last day of school -- must stay focused!!!

I will resist the snackies.........I will resist the snackies!!

I had a Luna bar a little while ago, and I feel like I want to eat another one. A little due to hunger, but I think its mostly because It tastes so darn good. I will resist it, I WILL!! I just chugged some water for good measure too. Once I leave work in about a half an hour I won't feel like eating that. I also just remembered that popping a cinnamon altoid in my mouth helps take away that feeling. 3 altoids are 10 calories, so that's not too bad.

We had a great weekend in NC, but I was up to 136.6. A far cry from the 131 I weighed in a few weeks ago to reach goal. I haven't seen 131 since that night at WI. I need to get serious and really focus on getting back to goal and a few pounds below. Its like I gave my self permission to eat once I reached it. I only have a few more weeks before my final 6 week maintenance WI at WW's. I can only weigh 2 lbs over my goal, so I can't be over 133. So far I haven't seen that number at WI either. I have been 133.6 and 133.8 at both WI's. I didn't have a WI this week since it fell on a Holiday.

I was down to 134.2 this morning, so one day completely OP helped. Hopefully day two OP will provide results as well. Next Monday I would like to be below 133.

Molli- Great job on resisting those cookies. Sorry your sugar free brownies didn't turn out. I will hunt for the rapid start program that came out in January. I know I must have the information somewhere.

Beamsof light- Something interesting I heard about scales today. On Good morning America it said that people on the Weight Loss Registry who have been able to keep weight off do weigh themselves regularly. So I guess they can be evil, but keep us from straying too far.

Bev- Great post. You really motivate me. I will try that 10minute wait this week. Maybe it will work.

ok y'all i blew it today :) i did "ok" not great at the luncheon then I decided I'd have just one piece of cake, well that led to a cookie or two or six and then I had a couple handfuls of chips at the chip and dip party in my DDs classroom.

thank goodness school is out and no more eating there!

i'm done -- no more for today! i'm throwing away my leftover cookies to ensure that. i'm sorry :(

back to the grind though starting now -- not tomorrw but NOW!

ohmom - now - don't be "sorry" - you did REALLY well - not chucking the rest of the day - WTG just throwing away the temptations and you are right NOW is the time to get right back to it! And, you did mention that you exercised today - that is good, too!

Let's review the list and move forward - sounds like we all are in the same "boat" - let's all paddle together and if we jump out for a minute or two - it will be "keep swimming" and then pick up your paddle again ;)

So we have:
low end of points range
good carbs
minimum sugar
no eating before bed
resisting the snackies
water, water, water

I'm off to have a BIG glass of water - didn't do so well in that area today!

~~~PD****PD~~~PD****PD~~~
FOR EVERYONE FOR AN OP DAY TOMORROW !!!!
Hey, ohMom, I don't think you blew it at all. You threw out the rest of the cookies, and you got back on track immediately, rather than saying "I'll be good tomorrow." I think that's great. Way to go!
Melanie, I'm glad to hear my hopping on and off the scale more than once a week might have some benefit. I know it 'saved' me last week when I went astray midweek and saw the numbers start to creep up. I guess I was scared straight! Not the best motivation, but on days like that I'll take what I can get. ;)
Ok, I'm off for a glass of water. Cheers, everyone. Here's to an OP Thursday! :)
thanks for the strokes you guys are the best!
i'm paddling today -- getting ready to workout and start my day right, as usual, but end it right too! i was thinking this morning that it's such a better feeling to finish the week knowing I made good choices and stuck to it all week -- haven't had that feeling in quite a while. that is my goal for next week!
but as for today -- i'm back on track I can feel it! already have one glass of aqua down ..............
You know WISH is such a great place. Its good to know that there are others struggling daily like I am. I don't wish that you struggle, its just good to know I am not alone and that I can come here for help to get me through. I made it the rest of the day without eating another Luna Bar!
This morning the scale said 132.8. Woo hoo its back to normal! Its such a good feeling when you go away and stray and you get back on track and get it back to where it should be. Each time I do it, its like learning something that will help with maintenance. Knowing that a few days doesn't hurt you, as long as you get back into the swing for a few days so the gain doesn't become permanent. I guess its true when they say you can't gaine 5 or 6 pounds in a few days. Its all just water.
Now the big test will be the weekend. Can I keep on track enough to keep from bumping up to the 133's again or can I keep it under 133.
Last night I did good. I had my dinner and a peach immediately afterwards. I ran 1 mile and walked 1.5 and I did eat a snack then. I try not to workout at night for that reason, but I had no choice since I didn't get up yesterday morning to workout. I had 7 TLC whole wheat crackers, 1/2 oz low fat cheese and 1/4 oz turkey for a 2.5 point snack. Unfortunately it didn't fall in my eat before 7pm time frame. I am glad I did it though, because the last time I worked later in the evening and didn't eat till breakfast the next morning I had no energy till I took a rest day a few days later.
Molli- I think you did great. We have to allow ourselves to "cheat" once in a while. That's the only way to really make this something we can do for a lifetime. You got back on track that night. Way to go! I am proud of you for not saying I will go back tomorrow. You are so right about the feeling you get at the end of a week when you know you made good choices. I haven't had that feeling for a while either. I do good the majority of the week, but then I cheat too much a few days so it ends up being a wash. Good for maintaining, but not for getting where I need to be.
Beamof light- See the scale can help us. Glad it got you back on track. The important thing is not to let the scale set your mood. It doesn't tell 100% truths. Water weight can sometimes be the culprit as well as muscle gain.
Bev- Keep chugging that water. Its so hard to do. I am going to chug some too!
Keep up the great job guys.
i'm having a day like ohmom's at DD school!! today is exam day and i brought in donuts for my aids. i ended up eating 3!!! and i really don't usually like donuts???? they were so good!!
i'm with you guys!! i feel like i do well some days, but have more and more cheat times. it was just sat and sunday...now friday is in there and lately thursday too. too much social eating at the end of the school year! i keep telling myself, next week will get me in gear. i'm teaching about 5-6 aerobic classes, so hopefully that will help burn the donuts!!
i have a questions for those of you discussing the scale...
i have gotten to a weight i am happy with, BUT it always fluctuates. i have been trying to monitor those fluctuations, but is that normal. i have ranged in 1 week from 139-134. i read about so many people trying to be a weight, is it OK or normal to be a weight range. and when should i be nervous about true gain??
thanks for any advice out there...
and very appropraite at the moment (my Study hall is watching "Finding Nemo") just keep swimming" !!!!!!!
hey nikki - when you say "139-134" you mean 139 right, not 129? you are just typing dyslexic? you are far toooo muscular to fall into the 120s!
i was totally slipping into the longer eating weekend mindset and alot of social eating around here too. now I"m like -- ok summer is for social eating and I just need to get a better grip!
mel -- I totally agree with the "cheat" every now and then I have just been making it too often and for whatever reason! you name it! i need to be more choosy again.
so far so good today-even DDs and friends order pepperoni pizza for celebratory summer lunch and they inhaled the whole thing! didn't leave me to be tempted I guess -- which is fine by me!
just filled my aqua glass in your honor ;)
i hope to incorporate some evening light exercising too -- maybe a walk tonight. my bike is in for repairs this week:mad:
Hey everyone,
I've done really well this week. My scale actually said 131.8 last night and this morning. Whoo hoo!! And to think it was in the 136's on Tuesday.
I had Sushi today for lunch and I had always thought of this as light. I have had Sushi every Friday for weeks and I wonder if this is why I seem to spike up over the weekend. Maybe its the sodium. I have been so good all week, so this is a good test to see if that happens. If it does, I know its because of the soy sauce.
Here is to a good weekend for everyone!
:worship:MELANIE!!!! Cyber high five for shedding those pesky pounds -- shoo BF!! you are NOT welcome here! you go girlfriend! :thewave:
I made it through yesterday totally OP and so far so good today. My hard time is from 3 - 5 and it's 4:30 -- whew. just about there! I'm focusing on more protein and less processed starchy carbs, but not totally cutting them out either. no deprivation here! It will take me probably thorugh next week to reap the benefits though and that's ok. i'm feeling better already
hey i don't know where i'd use this smiley but isn't it cool?:teleport:
i'm too simple:rotfl: but i just got an email from mom who is having a good time this afternoon blowing bubbles at work. apple - tree - not a far fall -- something like that huh?:flower3:
hey! this is on page two and no one has posted in two days!!!
slackers!:rolleyes:
i'm plugging through my day here, resisting the temptation to graze as i'm not hungry just poking around here. I ate a few things yesterday that i'm not sure of the pts, so i'll just go from there and not use any more FP until Wed when my week rolls over.
any ideas for a challenge starting tomorrow???
Hey there everyone. So far so good with the weekend. I have managed to not go over my points. This morning I was still in the 131's. Keeping my fingers crossed I keep it up for tomorrow.
I didn't gain weight after eating the sushi, so that's good to know I am not gaining water weight from the salt. I can keep eating my weekly Sushi FIX!
Went shopping today and bought lots of great fruit. Strawberries, blueberries, cherries, peaches and bannanas. I also bought some firm tofu to make a recipe I saw on Cooking Thin. Its a smoothie. Looking forward to trying it. It's got Tofu in it, instead of frozen yogurt.
For the challenge tomorrow. We could do fruit again, or the 3 a day calcium. Any other ideas???
Molli- That's definately a cool smiley!!
