well - i have been meaning to add some light activity to my evening hours, any one care to join me? I challenge YOU to an extra three sessions of light activity in the opposite time of day you normally workout (morning/evening)

10 mins is the minimum ;)

For me this will be lighter but brisk walking, bike riding, and/or pilates/yoga combos.

are you game????

I'll take you up on that challenge!

This morning I ran 1.75 miles and walked 1.25 miles. I walked 2 times around the park at lunch. We'll see if I have time tonight since it's WI.

Thanks for the fun challenge. Whatever gets us moving is good!!

I just saw the challenge so I will try tomorrow morning to see if I can get up early and try it.
I bought myself a pedometer and I will see how far I actually go during my 40 min training. I'm guessing 3 miles - but we'll see!

How was everyone's weekend. I have 2 and 1/2 more weeks of school ( I'm a 3rd grade teacher) and I am wondering how this will change my training schedule?

Nice job Melanie and Ohmom! Woohhooo:yo-yo:

Hmm .. I don't really have a normal time of day since I work rotating day and night shifts. But I'll try throwing in an extra 3 sessions. Hey, maybe I'll make it minimum 10 minutes of activity before logging on to DIS. ;)

Thanks for the challenge. Good luck everyone!

yea........i'm not alone.......

i just called another darling neighbor of mine that likes to walk but her pace is slower than my workout powerwalking pace -- so that's my plan for session one - a 30 min light walk tonight

Hey everyone,

I ran 1.25 and walked 1.25 this evening. Ok, so much for a lighter workout but It may actually work for me. I can't get in as long of a walk/run as I would like in the morning because I can't drag my butt out of bed that early so this may allow me a chance to get a longer workout in.

I lost 1 pound at WI. I was 132.8 which would just barely make me reach lifetime if I were on my last week of maintenance. I have 3 coupons left, so I must try to be good till then. Maybe if I try to add a few extra cardio 's this week I can boost my metabolism. It needs something, or maybe I just need to not eat so much, lol!

Molli- Now I know what a DN is, lol! I was trying to figure that out earlier! I did a leisurely walk at lunch too. It feels nice to go slower!

Beams of light- Hey, thats a good thing to do. 10 min of exercise to DIS!!

Krista-Let us know how the pedometer works for you. I need to find mine and use it. I had a nice weekend. DH took me to the mall and bought me new rings for my anniversary. I don't think I can make it all week till they are ready to pick up. I am SO excited! We saw Harry Potter last night. It was really good!

See you all tomorrow. I plan on doing a FIRM strength training tape, and probably do a run/walk in the evening.

I have been thinking that I need to do a short "quick" walk at lunch time - so guess this fits the bill! so I am in!

Off to get a pair of shoes to just take to work and leave there so I won't have any excuses :p

I missed today but I will start tomorrow!

Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting more - getting into crunch time before our trip. How's everyone doing on their challenge? I did some crunches and upper body weights to 'earn' my DIS this afternoon.

Actually my crunches were inspired by Melanie, and your response to the 'how do I lose belly fat' thread. I was thinking about how I was losing inches and in what areas. After reading your post, I thought about where I've always had problems, even before my big weight gain. That's right .. belly! I guess the old girl will be last to go. Ah well, as long as it goes eventually! In the meantime, I'll keep doing those crunches. Somewhere under that flab, I've got really nice abs. :teeth:

Ok .. so .. how is everyone else doing? Hope the week is treating everyone right.

Cheers,
Caroline

Hey Everyone-

The pedometer worked alright. I just wonder if it can keep track of running? Today I used it for a walk and it worked much better!

Mel! Congrats on the jewelry WOOHOO!

Hi all,

Sorry I have been MIA lately. I can get sidetracked when I am on a mission, and I have been doing some research the last few days that has kept me from posting. Because of this I have been slacking on my exercise for a few days. I plan on getting back on track this weekend and its actually helping me?? Go figure. For some reason I was at 130.2 yesterday, the lowest I have ever been. Strange how you can rest for a couple of days and have your weight go lower. I guess sometimes your body needs to say WHAT are you doing to me??

Kris- That's a good question about the running? It might be too fast to get an accurate read for running, but I am not sure.

BeamsofLight- Great job on the crunches!! They will eventually prove worthwhile!! I sure wish the belly fat disappeared quicker! Darn it!

Bev- I need to bring shoes to work too. My feet were hurting me after walking on Monday in my sandals!!

Keep up the great work everyone. I plan on getting back on track this weekend!!

CONGRATULATIONS MELANIE!

Did you celebrate your weight by indulging a little?!

Krista:bounce:

i just wanted to report on this thread that I did complete the challenge! yea! I walked three nights and hope to continue the trend of add-ons this week too :)
