I heard last week from my leader that the program is changing and will be unveiled August 23rd (I think that was the date). She was not saying a word and said that they were all under the strictest of orders to not say anything. The only thing she said was that she had been doing the program for some weeks. I know that a couple weeks earlier she mentioned that she had some weight she wanted to loose, and interestingly enough it coincides with her revelation that she has been "on the new program". The reason she mentioned it is that the 12 week books are being discontinued. they were on sale and told us why (the new program). So, I find it interesting that the program will not match the books that are out there. I know company's like to "shake things up" every so often to keep it fresh and get new people in. Any speculations as to what these changes could be??? I for one, do not have a clue.;) (not in general.... just in regards to the new program!;) )

Maybe they are adding a Low Carb plan to it??? Now wouldn't that be interesting?

Of course this is a total guess...I have never even been to WW..but it was just a idea..

What I've heard (and I don't know how accurate this might be), is that the changes will not be major ones.

I was told that the changes will mostly be in how we account for points used.

Rather than having a RANGE of points each day, you'll have a target at a fixed number of points. Then you'll have a "pool" of bonus points to use throughout the week.

So if you currently have a daily range of 22-27 points, you might now have a daily points target of 24 points. Then you might have a bonus pool of maybe 20 points to use throughout the week, which you can supplement with exercise points.

I don't know what the numbers will be for the targets or the bonus pool, or what terminology they'll use. But it would make sense that the trackers and the 12 week journals would need to be reprinted to fit. (I LOVE the 12 week journals! They're a lot easier to manage than all those loose weekly sheets.)

Again- who knows how accurate this might be... My take is that this would give the marketing folks some fresh material to use in recruiting new members, but the program content doesn't change in any meaningful way.

I guess we'll find out pretty soon!

It figures, I just signed up 2 weeks ago with the onliine program. I wonder if they'll send me the new info when it comes out or if I'll have to pay more $$$.

I think it'll have something to do with lo-carb too.

I agree with KathyTX. That's what I've heard. I've also heard that the points tracking will be done more like a checkbook, where we'll have a total points for the day at the top, and then we'll subtract as we eat. If we are in the negative for the day, we can add in points from the bank (which will be automatically stocked with like 20 points every werk). This is how people in other countries do their points accounting, and I guess WW wants to make the US and International members more alike in program.

There's already a sort-of low carb option in the Week 6 booklet. I've been following the lower-carb version of WW, because carbs just don't make me full and satisfied.
