The way they do it now is you take the first two #'s in your weight and start with that. Meaning if you weight 180 it would be 18; then you add one if you are a female; anotehr if you do a lot of activity; and another if you are below 58 or so; you might get 2 if you are under 40. (don't know haven't seen 40 for too many years LOL ) Hope this helps.
