If you were going to do WS first thing in the morning, would you start on the Mexico side and go clockwise or start in Canada and go counterclockwise? Do the crowds generally rush in one direction? TIA! :goodvibes

WS isn't open first thing in the morning. We always start in Mexico.

WS doesn't open uptil 11 every day. Seems that *most* people usually start in Mexico ~ In WS, most people don't rush - it's usually a good place to stroll.

:scared1: LOL, that's good to know! I don't know how I missed that with all of the reading I've done! :sad2:

But, I'm glad I asked as I was just about to type up our plans for that day ~ OK, off to do some more reading, LOL!

Thank you!

We do Mexico first too!

you could go to WS in the morning if you book a Segway tour!! We haven't done it yet, but we got to take a short ride on one at Disneyland. The tour at Epcot is in WS in the morning, so there is no one around!!! I hope to do the tour someday!! :sunny:

When we go to WS, we usually start with Mexico first...Not really sure why. :rotfl2:

Maybe this time I will force myself to go to Canada first. ::yes::

We always start in Canada... We do Soarin, or FP Soarin and do Honey I shrunk the Audience, then Figment (some of the characters from HISTA are in the Figment ride) then we take the walkway thru the Roses which is close to Canada...

We always start in Mexico. I'm sure this will sound like I have OCD (and I am by no means making fun of anyone who has it) but I just cannot start at Canada or I feel like I'm walking backwards. To me it's the same as which leg do you put in first when putting on your pants. It just doesn't feel right.

Thanks for all the input! Can you guys answer one more thing for me, please?

I have put Soarin' at the top of our list (I do NOT want to miss this!!) ~ do they let you do the kid-swap thing on this ride? We have several adults who want to go on but we also have 3 little ones who definitely won't. :scared:
TIA! :flower:

Yes they let you use kid swap and I think you can bring 2 other people on with you again.

It all depends on how fast you plan on moving through the countries. If you start with Mexico and move slowly, by mid-afternoon, you will be walking into the sun. I find it to be uncomfortable. I usually start with Canada. By the time I get half way round WS, the sun is at my back.

That could really be a big factor in our decision (we're going at a very hot time as it is so any relief would be appreciated I'm sure)! Thanks for that tip :)

BTW ~ great new pic of your DD!! :flower:

seems like many people do this! I guess we are just conditioned to do things clockwise :teeth: going counter clockwise does seem like going backwards!! And whenever I have had to backtrack that way I seem like I am running into people!!!

Thanks!

If you are going in the summer, you really don't want to be walking into the sun. I've done it there and it was miserable. Also, I've found that the larger crowd always goes to the left at WS. It seems strange because I've noticed that most people go to the right in the other parks. It may be because Mexico is more visable than Canada. If you go toward Canada, the crowds will be lighter until mid-day when you run into those folks coming from the other direction.

Good advice about the sun. I know I hate walking into the sun and my DD (18 months when we go) won't keep her sunglasses on. :cool1:

However, I don't have to worry too much about the sun....Stacy is planning this trip so I'm literally going to follow her. I can look down and watch her feet lead me in the right or wrong direction, LOL :rotfl2:

We start with Canada. I understand the whole clock wise thing but this way things are on our right. I do not feel like we have to "cross" traffic so much this way. :sunny: By starting this way I have noticed it is not nearly as crowded until about 1/2 way through. DS would like to start with Mexico this time but after hearing :chat: the sun will be in our eyes (which I had never thought about) we will continue the way we have been doing it. Thanks for the insight :flower3:

We always start in Mexico. It has become a tradition to head to the margarita stand!! ;) After reading this post and considering having the sun at my back, my new touring plan will be to head to the margarita stand, then turn back and go to Canada and proceed that way. This way we can end up back at the margarita stand!!

Besides the clockwise thing, I think most people start with Mexico because it has "Rio del Tiempo", and is close to Norway's "Maelstrom", the only 2 "rides" in WS (the rest being "attractions", and darn good ones, I might add!). I tend to skip Mexico (don't like it much), and love the rose walk, so I start with Canada. Besides, the crowds are lighter, and even if I end up walking into them at the end, I've had a nice, relatively crowd-free period in which to recoup my senses.
Never even noticed the sun thing...that's really good to know!
